Self-catering holiday cottages in Catfield

The village of Catfield is an excellent base for exploring the Norfolk Broads and the delightful beaches on the North and East Coast. The quieter sandy beach of Sea Palling is a mere four miles away with the more popular traditional seaside locations of Cromer, Sheringham and Great Yarmouth just a short drive away.

The Broads offer many experiences, whether you choose to hire a boat or canoe to explore the magical waterways, sit and relax on the riverbanks to watch the world go by, go walking or cycling along the many quiet lanes or even try your luck with a spot of fishing.

The nearby town of Stalham is just two miles away offering a supermarket and a range of small shops, with the larger market town of North Walsham with its greater range of shops and leisure centre located ten miles away.

Actually in the village of Catfield you will find The Crown Inn a traditional pub serving real ales and home-cooked food.

This is also a great place for wildlife spotting with two nature reserves close by Ant Broads / Marshes National Nature Reserve and the largest of the Broads National Wildlife Trust at Hickling. Here you can easily spend a whole day any time of the year exploring all that is on offer. It is situated on the Upper Thurne river system, which holds a significant percentage of the UK’s population of common cranes as well as important breeding numbers of bittern, marsh harrier, bearded tits and Cetti’s warbler. If you’re lucky you may even see a kingfisher or an otter.

Browse our collection of Catfield cottages and plan an idyllic escape to the Norfolk Broads, with dog-friendly, romantic and family-friendly holiday homes available .
