This wonderful property, situated in Barton Turf just half a mile from the Norfolk Broads, is the perfect romantic bolthole for two. Sleeping you both in a cosy king-size zip-and-link bed, this single-level cottage could even be used as a base for two friends travelling together to explore Norfolk’s coast and countryside. Wake up among peaceful neutral decor, grab your morning coffee and head out to the patio to start your day in the great outdoors.
The holiday home is laid out in a relaxing open-plan style with lots of windows to maximise natural light; wood furniture gives the property a real cottage feel. Snuggle up on the sofa together in the evening, looking out of the patio doors towards the fields, or watch your favourite show on TV. The stylish kitchen area is overlooked by a fantastic wood beam; enjoy breakfast at the bar, sit at the dining table by the floor-to-ceiling window, or dine alfresco on the patio. Take a revitalising shower in the shower room before heading to bed for a great night’s sleep.
Hire a boat for the day from one of the many companies in Wroxham (5 miles) and get the true Broads experience, stopping at a pub for a drink and a bite to eat along the way. Head to Waxham Beach (9.5 miles), the quieter end of Waxham Sands, for a walk among trees and sand dunes. To the north you’ll get a good view of the reefs at Sea Palling (8.5 miles), and to the south you’ll see Horsey (12 miles) in the distance. The city of Norwich (13.5 miles) is a must-visit; stop at the beautiful cathedral in historic Tombland or wander hidden gem The Plantation Garden before browsing the 190 stalls at the large open-air market.
