Self-catering holiday cottages in Burnham Thorpe

Burnham Thorpe is a quiet little village famous for being the birthplace of Horatio Nelson; there are many reminders in the area of his important part in its history, particularly in the church and the village pub.

There are actually a whole family of destinations all with the name 'Burnham' lying just west of Holkham in the valley of the unassuming River Burn. Burnham Overy Staithe and Burnham Norton are actually located on the North Norfolk Coast, and Burnham Market is a very popular spot for a good selection of quality shops, pubs and restaurants all set around a pretty village green. Burnham Deepdale lies a little further west and, along with Burnham Overy Staithe, straddles the route of the Norfolk Coast Path.

The whole area is great for ornithology with many reserves close by, sailing can be enjoyed nearby at Burnham Overy and Blakeney, plus you will be spoilt for choice with stunning sandy beaches to explore namely Holkham, Brancaster and Wells-next-the-Sea.
