Self-catering holiday cottages in Holme-next-the-Sea
The small village of Holme-next-the-Sea sits on the beautiful North Norfolk Coast, at the northern end of Peddars Way, and boasts a wonderful selection of holiday cottages for you to discover. There are two separate beaches, one directly at the end of the beach road and one further east which runs alongside the Holme Dunes Nature Reserve. The wide sandy beach is where “Seahenge” was discovered in 1998 - the 4,000-year-old 55 oak timber posts are now in a museum in Kings Lynn.
The Holme Dunes Nature Reserve provides a number of extremely pleasant walks through the varied habitats of the reserve, which includes Corsican pine woodland. Plus the well-known Titchewell RSPB Reserve is just 4 miles away – which has something for everyone. A walk from the visitor centre down to the sandy beach takes you past reedbeds and shallow lagoons, which are often full of birds, and you can enjoy the magnificent sights from benches or watch from spacious, wheelchair-accessible hides.
The seaside town of Hunstanton, with its promenade, fairground rides, oasis swimming pool and Sea Life Centre makes it a popular location for families. Burnham Market and Brancaster are all within a very short distance, plus the village is an ideal base for exploring the impressive variety of beaches found along this part of Norfolk’s coastline. Meanwhile, pretty Thornham is a beautiful seaside village for a coffee with a view after a coastal ramble along the Norfolk Coast Path.
