Head into the beach town of Cromer (6 miles) to walk along the Victorian pier and check out the town’s independent shops and eateries; or follow the Norfolk Coast Path along the cliffs towards Sheringham to go paddleboarding or birdwatching. In the evening, come home to light the chiminea on your private terrace, fire up the gas BBQ, and gaze up at the extraordinary star-filled Norfolk sky.
Pull up in the main car park (50 metres from the tent) and head to your beautifully furnished bell tent, where soft lighting, plush seating, blankets and heating create a warm and welcoming retreat in every season. Inside, the open-plan space had a king-size bed in pride of place, a roll-top bath sits within the tent itself - a wonderfully indulgent touch – and a handy kitchenette for cooking simple meals. The sofa can be made up to sleep two additional guests, and you’ll find a shared shower block just a few steps away. Step out onto your private terrace and cook up a storm on the gas BBQ. Afterwards, take a seat by the chiminea, pour yourself a drink and spend a tranquil evening under the trees.
In the morning, wake up to throw a line in the on-site fishing lake, or head off to meet the site’s resident goats. Alternatively, treat yourself to some traditional seaside fun at Cromer’s Victorian pier (6 miles) to walk the Victorian pier, or head inland to discover the Jacobean mansion at the National Trust's Blickling Hall (6 miles). Head to the historic market town of Aylsham (5.5 miles) to check out the weekly Monday and Friday markets, and then board the Bure Valley narrow-gauge steam railway for a 9-mile journey through the Bure Valley to Wroxham - the gateway to the Norfolk Broads.
