Thornham cottages

You will find Thornham to be a quiet picturesque village on the North West Royal Norfolk Coast. The beach, relatively unknown here is a wide area of sandflats backed by sand dunes and salt marshes and you can guarantee areas of unspoilt peace even in the height of summer.

We feel it is a great base for you to explore the beautiful coastline in this area. Stroll out to the harbour amid the creeks of Brancaster Bay, along the bank you will welcomed by the sound of soaring skylarks.

There are some great places to eat, actually in Thornham you can choose from the traditional 16th century pub - The Lifeboat Inn, once a haunt of smugglers, with a variety of dining areas including a welcoming lounge with an open fireplace and a bright conservatory. Or how about the award winning - Orange Tree, a stylish, contemporary dining pub, family owned and popular with couples, families and friends for its top quality locally sourced food, served in a relaxed environment.

Very close by is the busy sailing centre at Brancaster Staithe and the world famous RSPB Titchwell bird reserve. Here you will find something for everyone to enjoy, from exploring the sandy beach via reedbeds and shallow lagoons, spotting marsh harriers, bearded tits, avocets, gulls and terns to learning interesting facts at the visitor centre, plus don’t forget the gift shop and café serving a selection of hot & cold food as well as locally made cakes.

Notable attractions close by include Norfolk Lavender, Snettisham Wildlife Park and Bircham Windmill, making this a perfect holiday location with lots on offer for all ages and interests.
