The Holkham Estate is in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and home to Holkham Hall, which sits proudly at the centre of the Estate with far-reaching views over the 25,000-acres of historic parkland and woodland. One of the region’s finest and most recognisable Palladian country houses and the ancestral home of the Coke family for more than 400 years. The grounds are ideal for cycling and feature many themed walks and trails, with bike hire available close to the courtyard, restaurant and gift shop. You can even take to the water on the lake during the warmer months of the year. Just outside the walls of Holkham Park is Lady Anne’s Drive which leads down to the wide-sweeping sands and big skies of the dog friendly beach, bordered by pine woods. You will also find yourself spoilt for choice when looking to eat out. The Victoria Inn in the Holkham village serves fantastic local, seasonal cuisine from dawn to dusk, whilst lunch can also be enjoyed at the Hall’s Courtyard Cafe or the Beach Cafe slightly further afield in Wells-next-the-Sea. Wells-next-the-Sea is a charming coastal town with its iconic beach huts and picturesque harbour where you can enjoy fresh shellfish or the catch of the day. Other delights nearby are Burnham Market and its sister villages, Brancaster, Cley-next-the-Sea and the town of Holt to name just a few.
The Triumphal Arch, what a find! This place was stunning and beautifully located. I chose the Arch for my husbands 40th and it did not disappoint. The hamper on arrival was perfect, the decor tasteful and comfortable. We had an open fire going on our last night while we ate dinner and sipped Prosecco. We watched the sunset while the cows wondered near by. And we made the most of Holkham estate, walking, cycling and site seeing. We came home completely replenished. We would highly recommend.
Really enjoyed our stay, felt like royalty in such a special place. Thank you for the welcome pack it was much appreciated. The Crab House in Wells was fantastic but i am glad we booked in advance. For a takeaway the Fortune House was great for Chinese!
We loved our short stay at the Triumphal Arch and had a great time cycling around the estate. Fabulous welcome basket too! Thank you. Top Tips - head down to Holkham beach early in the morning before all the day trippers arrive for a secluded walk on miles of deserted sand. Other top tip - The Black Lion at Little Walsingham (v.pretty village) for an excellent dinner.
Amazing property - perfect for that special occasion!
Perfect location to celebrate my husbands 50th Birthday. Amazing property and the 34 stairs are great excitement! Best welcome pack we have ever had.
Exceptionally beautiful location and a great place to stay, especially the access to the parkland. The Triumphal Arch is definitely a special place. The welcome package was fabulous.
Such an amazing place, wish we had booked for longer for our Norfolk Adventure. Everything was exceptional and we will definitely be recommending to friends and family. Im stood here at the window writing this looking down the LONG driveway watching the cows munching on the grass for their breakfast. Idyllic.
We'll miss having our breakfast and afternoon drinks with the cows, pheasants and sheep. Won't miss headbanging! Had a really great time in the quirky arch in such a beautiful setting.
12 things to summarize our stay in the Arch in a beautiful setting. Peace, sunsets, comfy bed, layins, Holkham Bay, Holkham, fantastic hamper, brancaster beach, seals at Holkham bay, horses running in sea, deer munching, hares hiding. Not forgetting the stairs!! An adventure on their own!! Tip: Do not have late shower as fan will go on and on and on! Suggestion - small mirror in loo will be helpful.
The Triumphal Arch at Holkham Hall was fabulous place to stay, very peaceful with beautiful views. The standard of cleanliness was very high, fixtures and fittings in the bedroom/lounge were of a high standard. The goodie bag on arrival exceeded our expectations a really lovely touch to make our holiday special.
This place was heaven. Phenomenal. One of my favourite places to stay. Note though the WiFi is unreliable so you cannot work here.
Fantastic property in a great location, 34 steep steps to the top room, once there the view is superb.
Such a lovely location with so much wildlife to see. We have fallen in love with Norfolk and we will be back.
We've had the most special time - The Arch could not have been a more perfect honeymoon spot for us. We shall remember our wonderful stay in this unique home forever. Thank you.
A magnificent & unique luxury apartment with amazing views. The spiral 35 step staircase is unique and no problem for anyone with good health. The apartment has unique car access to the long estate road to Holkham Hall, normal visitors can only approach via the main entrance at The Hall.
Amazing building and location, luxury stay ! Could have stayed much longer than 2 nights ! Loved it !
