Wake up to sea breezes and stroll just a few metres to the nearest beach when you book a stay at this hand-crafted shepherd’s hut in Heacham. Ideal for couples (and a furry friend) seeking a simpler pace of life, it’s the perfect base for exploring Norfolk’s highlights – or simply spending quiet days swinging in the hammock.
With the traditional barrel-shaped roof and timber cladding of an old-fashioned shepherd’s hut, this glamping escape adds the modern amenities of plug sockets, Wi-Fi and excellent insulation. Take three steps up and enter through the stable door. In the compact kitchen you’ll find a fridge, a combination microwave and a two-ring hob – everything necessary, in fact, for whipping up light meals and snacks, which you can either enjoy at the adjacent dining table or take outside for an al fresco meal. To help take the chill off in cooler months, you can light the wood-burner-effect electric fire, and when you’re ready for sweet dreams you can fall into the double bed across the far end, a cosy space for snuggling up. Your private shower room and WC are outside: separate, but nearby. The site also has a larger kitchen, shared with other glampers. Unwind in the garden area (open to the shared grounds), which is furnished with a hammock, a picnic table and chairs round a fire pit, perfect for evenings beneath the stars. You’ll also benefit from private parking for one car.
The beaches at Heacham (200 metres) and Hunstanton (3.5 miles) are renowned for their beautiful sunsets – go for a stroll, pack a picnic and bring your pet for the most relaxing afternoon and evening.
