Thornham is a quiet picturesque village that forms part of the conservation area on the North West Norfolk Coast. There is a wide sandy beach and a small harbour, both of which form part of a local nature reserve. There are some excellent pub/restaurants in the village one of which has won an award in 2010. At the most westerly point of the village is Drove Orchards. A treasure trove of shops and eateries, including farm shop, boutiques, fishmongers, Eric's fish and chips and Shucks at the Yurt. The coastal town of Hunstanton is just four miles away, it has a sandy beach and many attractions for children. The Coast Hopper bus can take you to Wells, the RSPB reserve at Titchwell and villages including Brancaster and Burnham Market, an excellent opportunity to leave the car behind and enjoy the scenery.
Chris the caretaker was excellent and answered any questions we had. The property was so kid friendly everything was thought of from the plastic plates to kids chairs and high chairs. As well as stair gates at the top and bottom of stairs. And also a proper wooden cot was a bonus instead of a travel cot.
Really enjoyable accommodation provided a great base for a fabulous holiday.
If there was a category higher than 'Excellent' we would have used.
Excellent in every way
Small personal touches such as milk in the fridge and a vase of flowers made it extra special. ~Mrs S from Chesterfield~ July 2006.
