Thornham is a quiet picturesque village that forms part of the conservation area on the North West Norfolk Coast. There is a wide sandy beach and a small harbour, both of which form part of a local nature reserve. There are excellent pub/restaurants in the village, some award winning. At the most westerly point of the village is Drove Orchards. A treasure trove of shops and eateries, including farm shop, boutiques, fishmongers, Eric's fish and chips and Shucks at the Yurt. The coastal town of Hunstanton is just four miles away, it has a sandy beach and many attractions for children. The Coast Hopper bus can take you to Wells, the RSPB reserve at Titchwell and villages including Brancaster and Burnham Market, an excellent opportunity to leave the car behind and enjoy the scenery.
This large house is ideally located, facing the sea, (which is about a mile away), and a few steps from a friendly pub / restaurant. Ideal for family groups with lots of private parking. Some lovely extra touches, like a telescope on the dining table of the first floor reception room. Lots of birds around and nearby RSPB reserves to visit - we even watched a barn owl hunting in the evenings. Balcony was delightful to watch the sun setting. I’d love to go back again, it was a great find.
Small personal touches such as milk in the fridge and a vase of flowers made it extra special. ~Mrs S from Chesterfield~ July 2006.
