Ringstead is a hidden prize tucked inland from the west Norfolk coast just waiting to be discovered. With houses in the village from the 16th Century and beyond, it is an attractive spot for a holiday. The 17th Century village pub serves delicious meals using local produce and the well-stocked village store is a true delight, showcasing local food and drink, an ale list of over 70 local brews and a complex of rooms and courtyards full of things old and new, which is a treasure hunter's delight! The village is next to Ringstead Downs, an attractive chalk grassland located in a deep set valley and The Peddars Way and Norfolk Costal Path are also within easy reach. The Ringstead Loop cycle route is part of the national cycle network, which passes through the village and runs for 23 miles if you have the legs for it! The wide beaches of the west coast are close by at Old Hunstanton, Holme-next-the-Sea and Brancaster and are great for family days out, rock pooling, sand kiting, wind surfing and some amazing sunsets. Thornham a popular coastal village is nearby with a deli/restaurant, several pubs, and Drove farm which has a farm shop and other retail outlets. The RSPB Bird Reserve at Titchwell is just a few miles up the coast and the elegant Georgian village of Burnham Market with its eclectic shops and galleries should not be missed. Holkham House with its deer park, great house and pinewood backed beach and the Royal Estate at Sandringham can also be found in this delightful corner of Norfolk, which will draw you back time and again.
The property was very well kept, beautifully decorated (including lots of Christmassy decorations throughout the house) and we absolutely loved our break there.
Good space/layout to move around. Light and airy. Outside area well kept and plenty of parking. The cottage met the needs of 3 families with various ages and all agreed this was a great property for a family holiday.
Wonderful week, lovely place for family to get together. Recommend all the beaches from Old Hunstanton all the way along coast to Sheringham. Eateries recommended - Old Bank, Snettisham & The Yurt, Thornham
A lovely cottage with everything we could need and a lovely village too. We ate a few times at The Gin trap - can also recommend The White Horse, Brancaster Staithe and The Globe, Wells. We had a lovely walk in Ringstead Common just south of the village. Also great beach days in Old Hunstanton & Wells-Next-The-Sea.
Fantastic cottage, beautifully detailed. Every little thing thought of (as veterans of many a holiday cottage it's the first time we haven't had to go out and buy tea towels or pegs etc) Enjoyed revisiting all our favourite haunts after a four yer break. A five star rating
Quiet location that is within walking distance to the local shop and pub. Old Hunstanton Beach is a short drive away and is very dog friendly as are the two Cafe's on the Beach.
Lovely time in Norfolk with family and friends. Cottage accommodation very good with en suites. Weather very disappointing - will have to return !
We've had a wonderful few days in Norfolk. Topped off by being able to spend time with children & grandchildren in this beautiful cottage. Thank you very much.
Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful cottage, it has been a wonderful place to spend my 40th birthday ! A great location close to lovely places to visit (including The Gin Trap)
Lovely cosy cottage. Beautifully decorated for Christmas
Ideal property for our stay, bonus of a good playground a few minutes walk from the cottage. Gin Trap pub walking distance from the cottage ,food acceptable . Interesting attractive area ,lots to see and do for all of us. We really enjoyed the Wash Monster trip from Hunstanton to see the seals and the crazy golf too.
