Why not explore the coastal path with your four-legged friends and venture a little further to the vast expanse of Holkham beach, featured in the iconic film ‘Shakespeare in Love’ and where the Household Cavalry can be seen galloping the shores on their summer break. The popular harbour of Blakeney is a short drive, popular with all ages; try a spot of crabbing or take a boat trip and visit the grey seal colony with many local boat trips available to book for year round enjoyment. The area offers an extensive choice in gastronomic delights, excellent delicatessens and locally produced food from farm shops and local suppliers. There is an endless selection of pubs and restaurants in the area offering a range of simple pub food to the more sophisticated palette. Just a mile away is the Carpenters arms; offering a selection of real ales ‘on tap’ and great food sourced from local farmers and fishermen. The Cattle Shed is a lovely property – even more spacious and comfortable than it looks from the photos (if that’s possible) and very well equipped indeed. It’s a great base to explore this area of North Norfolk, very convenient for the beaches.
