Wells is a popular town set behind a small harbour on the beautiful North Norfolk Coast. It is possible to travel from the town by narrow-gauge steam railway to the sandy beach, which is backed by pine woods. The beach is one mile from the town and has a car park and tea rooms. It is an ideal location for a holiday at any time of the year and the area is famed for ornithology and has many excellent walks. Amenities in the town include amusements, great pubs, restaurants and many interesting shops.

It had quirkiness, mostly due to size. It had a degree of charm and we really enjoyed our holiday.

Mr Tony T,

Back again. Another very pleasant stay. We love the area and Bay Cottage is a warm and welcoming place to return to.

Jane R,

Have had another very happy stay in Wells. Cottage comfortable and met all our needs. Lots of bracing walks along the coast. Ate out at the Crab House (very good), Golden Fleece and The Crown, all good. What's not to like?

Nicky P,

Really enjoyed our mini break. Lovely cottage. Explored the villages up and down the coast and bought too many books! Brilliant walking and birdwatching.

Bridget M,

Another great holiday, warm and comfortable in the cottage with the stove on. Lovely weather as always and great bird watching.

Brenda P,

Our first time ever at Wells. What a pleasant surprise. For us, like going back in time, quaint shops and old fashioned (great) standards in food etc. A sheer delight wandering the streets. Then of course, this lovely cottage - great for a break in summer or winter. Everything here we needed, including a log fire. With practice we have got this down to a fine art, creating lovely warmth and atmosphere in this delightful cottage.

Carol M,

Perfect holiday cottage for a birthday weekend treat. Cosy and warm with everthing we needed. Arriving late on a Friday it was such a treat to find a welcome bag, coffee, tea and milk in the fridge. Despite the wind we walked to Burnham Overy. Had a warming meal at The Hero. We didn't time it well for the bus so we walked all the way back. The beach is so beautiful all the way, we didn't mind. Stopped at The Lookout at Holkham beach - such a peacful place to have a coffee and watch the birds. Wells is such a pretty little town with good shops and charming Christmas lights. We will be back in the warmer months.

Kath M,

We have had a lovely time in this comfortable, cosy cottage. The weather has been mostly kind, particularly when Santa arrived by boat in the harbour at high tide on the 24th. The Golden Fleece provided exceptional meals. We have revisited our usual haunts on this beautiful coastline. Thank you.

Sian B,

Lovely cosy cottage. All you could need. Great location and very welcoming. Will definitely recommend.

Colin P,

Have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bay Cottage. What a quaint little place. Thanks very much for the welcome pack - very much appreciated. Cottage very comfortable and is an ideal base for exploring Wells and the surrounding areas.

Kath T,

Have really enjoyed our stay in this delightful little cottage. Very compact and comfortable. Thank you for the welcome pack, a lovely surprise and a lovely touch. We have had a lovely few days, everywhere very dog friendly, and we have thoroughly enjoyed the beach walks and pine woods. Lovely weather which was an added bonus, enabling us to fully explore the area. We did the beautiful 'coastal walk' from Wells to Blakeney. We stopped off at Stiffkey (lovely pub called The Red Lion), continued on to Morston and went on the Seal Boat trip. Continued on to Bakekeny and got the Coast Hpper bus back. A beautiful walk, enjoying spectactular views of the marshlands, open fields and the boats. Would definitely recommend although comfy shoes are a must.

Hilary W,

Really enjoyed our stay in Bay Cottage - as someone said, small but perfectly formed. V. hot in Wells at the moment, but cottage love3ly and cool downstairs which was good for our chocolate lab, Bailey. Would recommend walking to Wells Beach early in this heat - it's perfect at 8am! Cafe has a doggy shower. Pubs - 3 Horsehoes in Warham is wonderful and dog friendly. The Carpenters Arms - not a great range of gluten free, but v. friendly staff and lovely pub. Wells & Walsingham Railway is lovely, even without kids and you can stop in Walsingham for an hour and get another train back. Eat pancakes on The Albatross - gluten free options too. Wells is gorgeous. Cottage in perfect location.
