This fantastic property, situated in the pretty village of Salthouse less than a mile from the beach, is perfect for big family holidays or friends’ reunions. Sleeping ten guests over five peaceful bedrooms, one in its own self-contained annexe, this single-level cottage suits a range of guest make-ups but offers everyone an escape from busy life. Wake up refreshed after a great night’s sleep, grab your morning coffee and head to the courtyard’s outdoor sofa to start your day with some sun.

The property, which also welcomes two dogs, is spacious and inviting. The kitchen is a pleasure to cook in with lots of light and charming traditional features like stone flooring and wooden units, while the lounge is a haven to relax in after a long day of walking. Exposed beams, vaulted ceilings and a cosy wood burner create a tranquil atmosphere among the calming blue tones of the sea. The summer room, with soft decor and comfortable sofas, offers a moment’s peace. When it’s time for bed, head down a couple of shallow steps to the en-suite bedrooms. And if you want some privacy, take the bedroom in the annexe that has its own kitchen and sofa to escape the hustle and bustle of the main house. The inner courtyard is a lovely spot to grab some sun, either alone or with company.

Go for walks along Cley Beach (2.5 miles), known for its natural beauty and wildlife, or head to West Runton (7.5 miles) where the children will have more luck building sandcastles. Bishop’s Boats Seal Trips (3.5 miles) guarantee you’ll see seals basking on Blakeney Point on a boat trip, while Amazona Zoo (10.5 miles) is home to over 200 South American animals. Visit Blickling Hall (14 miles) or Walsingham Abbey (11.5 miles) for a bit of history or go for a steam train ride with the North Norfolk Railway (5.5 miles).

Lovely cottage, clean and tidy with everything you need for a family holiday. We were 8 adults 1 toddler a pair of 6 month old twins and the dog, plenty of room for all of us. The photographs really do not do the property justice.

Wonderful accommodation, close to the marshes and coast. Extremely spacious and yet cosy. Very useful attached but separate double room with kitchenette. Spotlessly clean with every piece of equipment possible. Just a lovely place for a family gathering, which we are all hoping to come back to.

The cottage was gorgeous - even better than the photos on the website. It was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. The welcome package of wine and cake was an added bonus. Really clear communication about key pick up and checking out. Made the whole process easy and stress free. Would definitely stay again!

As a three generation group of nine adults-plus the dog- we found Cumfus Bottom very comfortable and beautifully appointed. The quadrangle layout added to the air of spaciousness and allowed for quiet corners to be found if needed. Do Norfolk Cottages always lay on the fine and sunny weather in February which we enjoyed? That was impressive too.

A great house for a family get together - in our case 6 adults and 3 small children. The children loved the fact that the corridors go right round the courtyard, great for running games. The house is comfortable and very well equipped with kitchen equipment, toys and books, etc so it felt like a family home. We liked Salthouse and its good villagRead moree shop - an excellent location for exloring the Norfolk coast. Hide

Excellent property. We went with 6 adults, 2 children aged 6 and 2 and 2 dogs and everyone was delighted with the house. Property is very secure for both dogs and children and as the property is all on one level and in a square the children were amazed that they could run round inside and end up back where they started! Great home for hide and seRead moreek. Property extremely well equipped and the aga is lovely. Good local shop and pub at end of road. Overall a superb property in a great location and I would thoroughly recommend. Hide
