Whilst we do our very best to deter and remove them before your stay, the Triumphal Arch, like many old rural properties, occasionally has an issue with cluster flies. There are estate vehicles & bikes that do use the archway for access to areas of the Estate. Please see upcoming Estate Events here.

The Holkham Estate is in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and home to Holkham Hall, which sits proudly at the centre of the Estate with far-reaching views over the 25,000-acres of historic parkland and woodland. One of the region’s finest and most recognisable Palladian country houses and the ancestral home of the Coke family for more than 400 years. The grounds are ideal for cycling and feature many themed walks and trails, with bike hire available close to the courtyard, restaurant and gift shop. You can even take to the water on the lake during the warmer months of the year. Just outside the walls of Holkham Park is Lady Anne’s Drive which leads down to the wide-sweeping sands and big skies of the dog friendly beach, bordered by pine woods. You will also find yourself spoilt for choice when looking to eat out. The Victoria Inn in the Holkham village serves fantastic local, seasonal cuisine from dawn to dusk, whilst lunch can also be enjoyed at the Hall’s Courtyard Cafe or the Beach Cafe slightly further afield in Wells-next-the-Sea. Wells-next-the-Sea is a charming coastal town with its iconic beach huts and picturesque harbour where you can enjoy fresh shellfish or the catch of the day. Other delights nearby are Burnham Market and its sister villages, Brancaster, Cley-next-the-Sea and the town of Holt to name just a few.

Reviews

The property was very cosy/comfortable, but it was rather small. The welcome pack was much appreciated. That said it was ideally located and we were able to have our dog there. A light over the stairs would be useful at night, as the toilet is downstairs and some form of waterproof covering under the bath is needed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Mr Mark T,

Very quirky location. It was a surprise long weekend away for my wife and the fun was her reaction to arrival at the Triumphal Arch.

Mr Robert H,

The cottage was smaller than expected for the money. Some of the interior windows and the mirror above the bath had not been cleaned. The ice box in the fridge needed defrosting as the door would not shut properly. The hamper was lovely and the location was ideal.

Mrs Sharon W,

A great cottage in a fantastic location. We enjoy walking and so to be able to walk to Burnham Market and Wells (through the Holkham Estate) and around the Holkham Estate were a delight for us. I would highly recommend the cottage which was ideal for our 3-night stay. I would however hope for an upgrade to the kitchen facilities before committing to any longer than 3 nights

Mr Colin C,

Superb location. Extremely comfortable bed with quality linens and towels. A delightful lodge with all the necessary equipment in situ. The welcome pack was a lovely surprise with some delicious products.

Previous Customer,

On the accuracy of property information on your website question, this is marked down on a couple of errors, none of which caused us an issues, but nevertheless stating that there were two toilets and there is only one and also saying about a starter bundle of logs for a non-existence log burner may leave some people disappointed. Overall a lovely property in a great location. Fantastic for a short break.

Mr Richard A,

All the above amazing . The only thing we could seem to do was enter through the gates with the key pad 2468 ? So we drove all the way round to get to The Victoria .

Mrs Linda B,

The information about the layout & numbers of toilets was not clear. Would have like to have known just one WC downstairs- website indicated two WCs. Availability of EV was key reason for selecting property, parking ‘voucher’ and 10% discount at Holkham properties also a good bonus. Welcome pack was lovely & we would suggest adding Holkham dog treats to encourage purchases. Butter/margarine would be helpful addition as well as info as to what pack contains, so know what do/don’t need to bring. While lovely accommodation would feel cramped if weather wet/cold. Overall, we would consider a return visit.

Prof Sarah B,

Needs a bedside table. Also small wall mounted drying rack for washing up stuff needed as no where to drain . Tea lights provided and matches should be removed immediately from the living room due to severe fire hazard

Mrs Anita S,

2nd weekend away on the Holkham Estate. Beautiful place for a weekend away. Accommodation ideal for 2 and a dog. Really cosy. Thoroughly recommend.

Mrs D,

An ideal property for a short stay. Wonderful location for walking and exploring the Holkham Estate as well as wider afield.

Mrs N,

Had a great stay, quirky property with quality touches. Parking permit was really handy, great area with plenty to do.

Ms C,

Very comfortable , lovely setting, and appreciated the parking and discount voucher. Holkham Hall is truly amazing, worth a visit.

Mr A,
