East Runton is a small village and a popular holiday destination, with stunning cliff top views out to the North Sea and a long sandy beach. The coastal path meanders along the top of the cliffs to Sheringham in one direction or Cromer in the other, both make a fabulous walk. There's a good local coastal bus service, the Coast Hopper that runs from Cromer to Hunstanton, where you can hop on and off at will and discover the coastline without the need for a car. Trains run from Cromer into Norwich and at Sheringham the popular North Norfolk Railway, has a steam engine that runs from Sheringham to the elegant, Georgian market town of Holt. The village itself has two pubs, restaurants and several small shops. There is a Surf and SUP school at Cromer and you will also find two golf courses close by (at West Runton and Cromer). East Runton is a great base for cycling, walking, bird watching and water sports. If you’re a foodie, you’ll be perfectly placed to sample the local delights from Cromer crab to Brancaster mussels, artisan cheeses to freshly picked samphire. Rocky Bottoms in East Runton serves beautifully fresh seafood. Two of the National Trust’s iconic properties, Felbrigg Hall and Blicking Hall are nearby. At Cromer there is Amazona Zoo and the famous Cromer Pier – the UK’s only end of the pier theatre providing an excellent seaside Variety Show during the summer and Christmas periods.
We loved it here. Everything works well and felt so private. A good base for doing the North Norfolk Coast Mighty Hike on Saturday. Thanks.
The perfect place for a relaxing break. A very comfortable holiday home less than 5 minutes walk from the beach. There is a shop and a pub on the coast road in the village, literally 2 minutes walk. The beach walk to Cromer Pier (1 mile) is wonderful, and the town has all the amenities you'd expect, and excellent restaurants too!
We all had a wonderful stay at the charming & delightful Eva Cottage in East Runton which is a perfect holiday retreat for a relaxing break as well as being only 5 minutes from the beautiful beach where you can walk to either Cromer or Sheringham , both popular seaside towns with lots to do.
