East Runton is a small village and a popular holiday destination, with stunning cliff top views out to the North Sea and a long sandy beach. The coastal path meanders along the top of the cliffs to Sheringham in one direction or Cromer in the other, both make a fabulous walk. There's a good local coastal bus service, the Coast Hopper that runs from Cromer to Hunstanton, where you can hop on and off at will and discover the coastline without the need for a car. Trains run from Cromer into Norwich and at Sheringham the popular North Norfolk Railway, has a steam engine that runs from Sheringham to the elegant, Georgian market town of Holt. The village itself has two pubs, restaurants and several small shops. There is a Surf and SUP school at Cromer and you will also find two golf courses close by (at West Runton and Cromer). East Runton is a great base for cycling, walking, bird watching and water sports. If you’re a foodie, you’ll be perfectly placed to sample the local delights from Cromer crab to Brancaster mussels, artisan cheeses to freshly picked samphire. Rocky Bottoms in East Runton serves beautifully fresh seafood. Two of the National Trust’s iconic properties, Felbrigg Hall and Blicking Hall are nearby. At Cromer there is Amazona Zoo and the famous Cromer Pier – the UK’s only end of the pier theatre providing an excellent seaside Variety Show during the summer and Christmas periods.
