East Runton is a small village and a popular holiday destination, with stunning cliff top views out to the North Sea and a long sandy beach. The coastal path meanders along the top of the cliffs to Sheringham in one direction or Cromer in the other, both make a fabulous walk. There's a good local coastal bus service and trains at Cromer and Sheringham. The village itself has two pubs, restaurants and several small shops. During the season there is a surf school and you will also find two golf courses close by (at West Runton and Cromer). 1 Cutty Sark Cottages is a great base for cycling, walking, bird watching and water sports. If you’re a foodie, you’ll be perfectly placed to sample the local delights from Cromer crab to Brancaster mussels, artisan cheeses to freshly picked Samphire. Rocky Bottoms in East Runton serves beautifully fresh seafood. Two of the National Trust’s iconic properties, Felbrigg Hall and Blicking Hall are nearby. At Cromer there is Amazona Zoo and the famous Cromer Pier – the UK’s only end of the pier theatre providing an excellent Seaside Variety Show during the summer and Christmas periods. You won’t have to travel far to make this a holiday to remember.

Storm Arwen raged outside but what did we care in our beautiful cottage with a glass of wine and a roaring fire. (I even managed my zoom international ikebana lesson - Plus!)

Thel & C,

Great drive down from Yorkshire in hot sunshine. First day fish n chips in Sheringham at the Trawler f&c shop. Shower in ensuite bedroom, careful if you're 6ft 2inch plus like me! Cottage great, weather great, walks great, beach great, Cromer pubs great. Thanks for a great break and the sunshine each day.

Graham & J,

Such a lovely quaint cottage. Very comfortable with everything you need & more. Superb location - we visited - Great Yarmouth - Wells Next the Sea - Holt (have to visit) - Sheringham - walked to Cromer along the beach. The Fishing Boat pub (very friendly) butchers (amazing) and local shop has most things - Rocky Bottom Restaurant (very fresh food - fish).

Farrell Family,

Thank you so much for a wonderful weekend. Your cosy cottage is perfectly appointed and your gifts were much appreciated after a long drive. We look forward to coming back. Faukas-Ross Family

Past Customer,

Cosy well appointed cottage. Lovely location. Highlights - Rocky Bottoms Lobster, Wills fish & chips. beachcombing, fresh donuts in Cromer and Felbrigg Hall. A fabulous break!

Ms Inge H,

Peaceful location. Vey quaint, Really enjoyed staying here. Beach excellent in good weather (we swam!) Also nice walks along coastal path & to Sheringham via Romden Camp. Will's fish & chips great, The Corner House tea room in West Runton has wonderful home baked scones with lots of outdoor seating. The pepperpot in West Runton does delicious french food as a takeaway, Burgers at Sammy's very good. Hope to return!

Ms Morna H,

Lovely 2 weeks working and enjoying all Norfolk has to offer. Great work life balance! Love the proximity to the beach, the 3 NT properties within easy reach and all the great places to eat. Highlight The Pig at Edgefield, Old Byfords in Holt. Great Cottage (+wifi!). Thank you

Mrs Samantha W,

Great cottage, welcome package was great and appreciated. Weather was a mixed bag but there was always something to do. We will definitely be coming back for another holiday. Whole family have loved the cottage.

Mrs Clare W,

Had a lovely family holiday. The beach was a perfect distance away and beautifully clean. Can recommend Holkham Ropes if you're after a bit of adventure and then on to the beach. Wills Plaice fish and chips were very good but had an hour wait in the queue. Rocky Bolton take out was good too

Mrs Sarah C,

A lovely place to spend Xmas on a first ever visit to Norfolk. Feel very sad that the place is subject to such arbitrary restrictions at this time (Xmas eve we could have a drink - Boxing Day we could not). Would love to come back again in summer times.

Dr Andrew W,

Didn't disappoint, lovely & cozy, super comfy bed & high quality in a fab location. Loved it

Mr Scott B,

Loved staying in this cottage. Very well equipped, lovely & warm & cosy, everything we needed was here. Weather not very good but at least somewhere lovely to come and get warm and dry.

Mrs Sonja S,

Thank you for the lovely welcome hamper - we enjoyed the coffee in particular. We've had a great time exploring this part of Norfolk on our bikes. Great little cottage - well equipped and cosy

Mrs Sonja S,

What a treat! Extremely comfortable cottage. Parking has been a problem at times but residents ensured we were aware by leaving us a note on our car. We have had 2 weeks of excellent weather, have walked miles and enjoyed ourselves far too much. Thank you

Previous Customer,

We've had a lovely week in East Runton, managed to get a couple of days on the beach which is great. There is lots to do in the area. The kitchen in the cottage is well equipped, Thanks

Mrs E,

We really enjoyed our weekend in East Runton- the bed is very cosy and comfy and the shower is very powerful. Cosy kitchen and lounge made for a happy place to be. 5 minutes walk from the beach and on a beautiful common surrounded by pretty cottages. We enjoyed having the place to ourselves as a couple- the second bedroom is on the landing/access route to the master bedroom/bathroom so not self contained.

Mrs Julie W,

Lovely cottage in superb location only minutes from a lovely beach and easy walk into Cromer for restaurants and shops. Great for families or romantic couple getaway!!

Mr J,

Clean, well equipped cottage in a quiet location within short walk to a great beach. Weather has been kind. Recommend Will's Plaice for fish and chips and Cromer House Tea Rooms at West Runton.

Mr M,

Pretty, charming cottage in lovely quiet setting. Well equipped & tastefully furnished. Excellent shower too! We felt at home here & loved the garden!

Ms W,

Charming well appointed cottage in a very quiet village green location. Extremely comfortable bed. Welcome pack of drinks and nibbles greatly appreciated. Lots to do in the surrounding area including superb beaches, stately homes and chic towns like Holt.

Mr W,

Lovely old cottage. Very close to main street which has a well stocked shop, variety of eating places and close to beach. Other seaside towns within a short drive.

Miss R,

We had such a magical time at Cutty Sark Cottage. Very sad to leave, hopefully not a goodbye but see you soon. Thank you for our welcome basket, it was perfect. Everything in the cottage is so thoughtful and we really loved our stay.

Mr D,

Charming little cottage full of character and detail, giving a warm welcoming feeling. It was the perfect base from which to relax and enjoy the local area. Wood burner was well received on a wet and cold afternoon! Property is ok for families, the only suggesting would be a folding high chair would have been extremely useful for meal times.

Mr F,

Cottage is warm, cosy, and well equipped. Special mention to the excellent shower (so often disappointing in a rented cottage) and comfortable bed. Welcome bag is a lovely touch. Great to be so near the beach, and within reasonable driving distance of some great places to walk and explore rural and coastal Norfolk.

Mrs C,

This cottage was in a great location. Clean and with a good standard of equipment. It is a bit small, so 4 adults may find it a bit cramped.

Mr A,

Great little cottage, lovely location - we really enjoyed our stay!

Dr P,

Lovely staying in the cottage. Really enjoyed it. Very comfortable. We will return!

Mr S,

The first week out of lockdown #3 and we were certainly ready for a change of scenery (!) and couldn't of asked for a more comfortable and well located cottage. We have had a week of glorious weather which of course helps. We've walked the beach to Cromer and highly recommend Felbrigg Hall (The National Trust). 'Natural surroundings', gardens and walking & Cley Next The Sea Wildlife Trust. We haven't been to Norfolk before, but we'll be back! Many thanks

Mr E,
