East Runton lies on the A149 coast road between the resorts of Sheringham and Cromer. A steepish lane leads down to the beach where at low tide there is a wide expanse of flat sand perfect for a bracing walk, building sandcastles or playing ball games. The beach is backed by high cliffs and there are paths into Cromer or the neighbouring village of West Runton. Away from the coast is a cluster of traditional brick and flint cottages, and an attractive green and duck pond. The village is well placed for exploring the area but if you wish to remain closer to home there are several small shops, two pubs and a restaurant serving meals.

Another wonderful week in your beautiful Silvergate Cottage. Never disappoints. Like home from home. Exciting adventures all week from beach walks, to carnival parade, red arrow displays and more. Fond memories.Nat, Roy, Jack and Jarvis - 17th August 2018
Yet again we have had a wonderful stay. Loved The Gunton Arms and Sammy's! Weather was spectacular as were the beaches. We had so much to do that we never got to go crabbing! We spent all out time on the beach and in the sea. Sad to go but can't wait to visit you again next year! Thanks for all your help and see you soon!Jaimie, Sarah and Max - 10th August 2018
Thank you so much for letting us occupy your lovely cottage for a few days. You have thought of everything and the cottage is spotless, modern, airy and warm if needs be (heating works well). Its the little extras (books, games, etc) that make it home from home.Angie and Mark, Harriet and Pippy - 28th June 2018

A lovely cottage in a great location. Ms Lucy Robertson - 8th April 2018
The cottage is ideally located adjacent to the beach and has access to all amenities, such as pubs, restaurants and shops, and buses along the coast. Sheringham and Cromer are within easy reach as well as easy access to the Norfolk Broads if required. The cottage itself is suitable for use by anyone, including a family who loves the home from home feeling and is extremely comfortable and clean, with all the facilities that you could possibly want for a very relaxing holiday stay. The garden is enclosed and is pet friendly. We have used the cottage numerous times and would thoroughly recommend it to provide a wonderful holiday facility and we are going again shortly. We cannot recommend the cottage highly enough and we love it. Many thanks to Clare, Dom and Beryl for such a beautiful cottage.Judy, Bob and Jess - 27th October 2017
A great cottage in an excellent location. Morning walks on the beach to Cromer or West Runton - a great start to the day. Would highly recommend Sammy's Bar & Grill for the food, service and being able to take dogs along. A great week, lovely walks, and relaxed evenings! The Williams Party - 15th September 2017
We always love visiting North Norfolk and especially staying at Silvergate cottage. It's beautifully decorated with all the mod cons you need. Really comfortable king size bed which is heavenly. Lovely coastal walks, and cute little villages to visit nearby. Silvergate is perfect to visit all year round as it's so warm and cosy in the winter. Would highly recommend. Sue and Roger - 1st September 2017
Brilliant time! It was a pleasure to stay at Silvergate. Great location, lovely beach walks and 'us' time while our son enjoyed Kingswood in West Runton. We will be back - think it will be our annual trip. Especially loved Rocky Bottoms. The Carthew's - 11th August 2017
Fantastic time! Last time we camped and couldn't think of how we could make a better time of it. Silvergate Cottage was the answer!! Wonderful welcome and super location. Our son Max (6) did not want to leave and neither did we. The solution must be to return as soon as we can. Thank you for your hospitality and warmth, we look forward to seeing you again soon. The Taylor party - 27th July 2017

Very well-equipped lovely cottage.Mrs S Barclay - 16th January 2017
Your cottage is so beautiful. My mother and I (and Amber) have enjoyed every day of our stay here. The beautiful beach is a highlight, but all aspects have been wonderful. The comforts, the local shops and the local people are all so lovely. I have met some amazing dog owners, and dogs on the beach too. I would recommend a stay here to anyone.Ms Barclay - 12th January 2017
