East Runton is a small village and a popular holiday destination, with stunning cliff top views out to the North Sea and a long sandy beach, it’s a great base for exploring the North Norfolk coast. Just 1.5 miles to Cromer and 3 miles to Sheringham, there is plenty to keep you entertained. East Runton is on the coastal path, which starts where Sheringham High Street meets the promenade and ends at Cromer Pier. It’s a picturesque walk along mainly grassy clifftop paths with paved paths along the sea front. For all the foodies, you’ll be perfectly placed to sample the local delights from Cromer crab to Brancaster mussels, artisan cheeses to freshly picked Samphire. Rocky Bottoms, just a 15 minute walk from the Cottage, serves beautifully fresh sea food. The Gunton Arms set in a historic deer park and the Michelin starred Morston Hall are less than half an hour’s drive. The village itself has two pubs, restaurants, several small shops and at low tide there is a wide expanse of flat sand, perfect for walks all year round and is dog friendly too. You won’t have to travel far to make this a holiday to remember.

We really enjoyed our time at Silvergate cottage, it was comfortable, cosy and well equipped in a great location to access lovely local beaches and Sheringham Park which was perfect. Thank you. We also had excellent communication from the owner who was very helpful and accommodating.

Miss Christine Stanton,

Beautiful cottage with everything you need on your doorstep. Would definitely stay there again.

Mrs Hazel Simmons,

Another wonderful week in your beautiful Silvergate Cottage. Never disappoints. Like home from home. Exciting adventures all week from beach walks, to carnival parade, red arrow displays and more. Fond memories.

Nat, Roy, Jack and Jarvis,

Yet again we have had a wonderful stay. Loved The Gunton Arms and Sammy's! Weather was spectacular as were the beaches. We had so much to do that we never got to go crabbing! We spent all out time on the beach and in the sea. Sad to go but can't wait to visit you again next year! Thanks for all your help and see you soon!

Jaimie, Sarah and Max,

Thank you so much for letting us occupy your lovely cottage for a few days. You have thought of everything and the cottage is spotless, modern, airy and warm if needs be (heating works well). Its the little extras (books, games, etc) that make it home from home.

Angie and Mark, Harriet and Pippy,

Really happy with the cottage and location. Great sea views and beach walks. Found lots to do. Would recommend Beans Boat trip from Morston Quay to sea the terns and seals. Visited lots of good local farm shops. Many thanks.

Ivan, Nikki & Ethan,

Great week, lovely cottage and everything you need. Fantastic carvery and Dormy House,- its a must! Great to be so close to the beach. Holt, Cley and Wells worth a visit and of course Sheringham Park.

Miss Moore,

A lovely cottage in a great location.

Ms Lucy Robertson,

The cottage is ideally located adjacent to the beach and has access to all amenities, such as pubs, restaurants and shops, and buses along the coast. Sheringham and Cromer are within easy reach as well as easy access to the Norfolk Broads if required. The cottage itself is suitable for use by anyone, including a family who loves the home from home feeling and is extremely comfortable and clean, with all the facilities that you could possibly want for a very relaxing holiday stay. The garden is enclosed and is pet friendly. We have used the cottage numerous times and would thoroughly recommend it to provide a wonderful holiday facility and we are going again shortly. We cannot recommend the cottage highly enough and we love it. Many thanks to Clare, Dom and Beryl for such a beautiful cottage.
