Blakeney with its harbour, marshes and stunning scenery is a hotspot for a great coastal holiday. Within easy walking distance of the cottage there are several places to eat, a local delicatessen, a general store plus the North Norfolk Coastal path, which is great for birdwatching and walking. The walk to Morston on the coastal path is just over a mile and with a lunch at The Anchor when you get there, it is a lovely way to spend the day, as is a trip to see the local seal colony at Blakeney Point. The village also has some interesting art galleries, gift shops and The Blakeney Harbour Rooms has a growing reputation for showcasing some good tribute bands. This stunning diverse coast is recognised as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, there are fantastic sandy beaches at Wells-next-the-Sea and Holkham with beautiful Holkham Hall and deer park also in the village, both a short drive away. In the summer visit Wiveton Hall - now a well-known landmark following the BBC's Normal for Norfolk programme. Stop in the cafe to admire the beautiful marsh views with a cup of tea and pick your own raspberries and strawberries from the fruit farm - it's all normal for Norfolk!
We holiday in Blakeney every August and had a fabulous stay at Boat Barn Cottage this year - our first visit to the property. The house was extremely comfortable, well appointed and brilliantly placed for the Spar Shop, Quay and pub! Not to mention dog walks along the bank in both directions. We would love to return next year if possible and will cross everything in the hope of enjoying some more sunny weather too. Excellent holiday indeed.
Boat Barn Cottage is the perfect place to enjoy Blakeney and all around here. Space for all to spread out and come together in the communal areas.
This was a wonderful find and perfect for celebrating our daughter's birthday. Three generations of family and a dog enjoyed the most comfortable amenities. The cottage is in a perfect location so close to shops, beach, pub, village etc. The high standard of cleanliness and equipment was remarkable. Many thanks for making our stay a pleasure. We want to go back and enjoy the summer there next time.
Fabulous house and location, loved having the large garden and seating area. The very hot weather has made it even better, but we always love visiting Norfolk regardless. 8 weeks until we are back ... and counting! Thank you
Been coming to North Norfolk on holidays for over 30 years! This has been such a wonderful house and location, even the weather was kind to us. A day at the beach and a seal trip on lovely war sunny days. Planning another visit later in the year when much quieter and the weather less forgiving. Highly recommend new bakery Two Magpies by the quayside, absolutely delicious. P.S Look out for the hedgehogs
Excellent house, so well located and easily walkable to everywhere.
It has been a pleasure to find such a wonderful cottage both in design and position. We were so happy with our stay that we have booked another week later in the year!
A beautiful house! So much fun to stay in and we had a great time going for walks and also going crabbing! One day we caught 22!! Thank you so much
