Blakeney with its harbour, marshes and stunning scenery is a hotspot for a great coastal holiday. Within easy walking distance of the cottage there are several places to eat; a local delicatessen, a general store and the North Norfolk Coastal path can be easily picked up, which is great for birdwatching and walking. The walk to Morston on the coastal path is just over a mile and with a lunch at The Anchor when you get there, it is a lovely way to spend the day, as is a trip to see the local seal colony at Blakeney Point. The village also has some interesting art galleries, gift shops and The Blakeney Harbour Rooms has a growing reputation for showcasing some good tribute bands. This stunning diverse coast is recognised as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, there are fantastic sandy beaches at Wells-next-the-Sea and Holkham with beautiful Holkham Hall and deer park also in the village, both a short drive away. In the summer visit Wiveton Hall - now a well-known landmark following the BBC's Normal for Norfolk programme. Stop in the cafe to admire the beautiful marsh views with a cup of tea and pick your own raspberries and strawberries from the fruit farm - it's all normal for Norfolk!
Couldn't have picked a better location, perfect for dog walks and great for touring the area. The cottage has been beautifully renonvated and lots of lovely details make it a very comfortable and homely place to stay. Arlo our dog loved his biscuits and bed and didn't want to leave. Enjoyed seal trip with Bishop's Boats (very friendly helping my husband get on board). Picnic Fayre in Cley is worth stopping at for some food treats - pear and ginger cake is gorgeous. Brancaster beach was wonderful for a bit of swimming (dog not us). Thank you Andrew for calling round to check all ok after contacting Hillary about the door. Want to come back when weather not so good to use the woodburner!
It was a lovely property with everything we expected. The description made clear the details of the property prior to booking. The kitchen was extremely well equipped with everything we could have ever needed. The little extra touches on arrival were very much appreciated. Wonderful location, close to the centre of Blakeney for a very reasonable price.
Perfect little cottage, you have thought of everything from the dog treats to the Easter eggs ( the children were very happy) and a very well stocked kitchen. Our highlights were Bewilderwood, fantastic day out for children and adults. Norfolk Railway, Pensthorpe, crabbing at Blakeney and seal trip with Bishops boats. Coming "home" to this cosy cottage has been brilliant. Thank you
We enjoyed our short stay in Cuckoo Cottage - comfortable and warm and in a great location. We only had one wet day so we were lucky with the weather. Thank you for the welcome pack and special thanks from our labrador for the treats.
A really excellent relaxing week in a lovely, cosy, warm and comfortable cottage. Location perfect for walking our pooch (Flossie) Really appreciate the welcome pack - many thanks.
New Year 218! We had a lovely stay, very comfortable, cosy cottage! Lovely cottage, nice touches - lovely towels and comfortable bed. We will return.
Thank you for allowing us to stay in your lovely cottage. Everything was great. Many thanks for the welcome gifts, very much appreciated - coffee & jam were fab! Bedding and towels were lovely! Norfolk is a great Autumn escape for us. Best wishes
We have had a wonderful long weekend in your beautiful home. The little touches and attention to detail - especially for our dog and children did not go unnoticed. We wish we could stay longer. I have no doubts we will be back to stay again! Many thanks.
A delightful, well equipped cottage in a great location. The renovation has been tastefully done; very well equipped in terms of utensils, TV/radio etc. The welcome pack was a treat with local coffee, local jams and some basics to get us started. Very thoughful and a proper 'welcome'.
Thank you for a very enjoyable stay. Cuckoo Cottage is in an excellent location close to Blakeney village and quay (about 5 minutes walk) We have enjoyed walks to Morston, Cley and beyond; lunches and dinners in The Anchor and White Horse and visits to Cromer. North Norfolk is a favourite but being able to stay in such a well-appointed and characterful cottage was a bonus. Thank you for the welcome pack including the dog treats, which went well with our dog. Hope to return.
We have stayed in Blakeney several times in various cottages but Cuckoo Cottage is one of the best. Everything is supplied to make this a home from home from ultra soft towels to dog biscuits. We hope to return. With thanks.
Thank you for a wonderful stay in this lovely cottage. Very comfortable and beautifully decorated with brilliant location. We enjoyed Holkham Beach, the walk to Blakeney Point and food at The Dun Cow is delicious. Many thanks.
Wow! What a fantastic cottage. We have had a wonderful time. The welcome pack was a lovely surprise and I love the marmalade! The treats for Lottie, our Border Collie, were very much appreciated as she wouldn't eat anything else. We have walked her (and our) legs off in this beautiful location and are now going home for a rest! Thank you.
I really enjoyed my stay at Cuckoo Cottage. It was lovely to arrive, to see that coffee, tea and milk was all on hand. Even the dog didn’t miss out with some treats left for him too.
What a wonderful cottage, in a great location. Hilary and Andrew have provided everything you can think of that you might need for your stay. Watson, my labradoodle, enjoyed his treats and wanted to take the bed home with him! Holkham and Wells beach were stunning. Grey Seal Coffee, in Blakeney, does a mean cappuccino and the Kings Arms do the largest portion of fish and chips I have ever seen. Thank you for such a wonderful stay in such a cosy and well equipped cottage.
Enjoyed the cottage very much, great welcoming pack provided. Free parking very close to the cottage and good public transport.
We've had such a wonderful tome here at Cuckoo Cottage and have enjoyed exploring the beautiful local areas with our Monty dog! The cottage is cosy, comfortable and had everything we could have wanted. Four nights hasn't been long enough - we look forward to the next visit!
We have had such a wonderful stay in Cuckoo Cottage. Perfect location for beautiful walks with the dog and a few pub lunches. Cottage has everything we needed for the dog! Highly recommend Holkham beach and Temples seal trip. Thank you, we are already thinking about our next trip here.
So pleased we found your wonderful cottage. We have had a great few days with the dog. Perfect cottage with all the bits you need. Thank you
We've had a wonderful time in your lovely cottage. Perfect location for reliving my own childhood memories with my very young son (3.5 months). Thank you for providing such a comfortable home from home - loved the little touches for the dog and the very soft towels. Seal trip and Wells beach are a must do! We hope to return soon.
Dear Hilary and Andrew, Thank you for all of the wonderful bits you left for us. We had a wonderful stay at Cuckoo Cottage. We found everything that we needed.
We had a wonderful break in your delightful cottage. It's certainly very comfortable here and every comfort has been considered - down to an incredibly well-equipped kitchen (in which one could even bake if desired!). The position could not have been better - our son has enjoyed an evening stroll to the park for the zip wire, the spar is very convenient for supplies (without the complication of trying to park), the distances to spectacular beaches has been short and on those rainy days, so typical of British summer, we've enjoyed relatively short drives to Castle Rising and Norwich. Thank you so much! We will certainly return.
