The cottage homeowner, subject to his availability is always happy to take paying guests staying at the families holiday home for a days skippered sailing and picnic plus a sensible amount of wine or beer or both!! Max Carding keeps his classic Broads sailing yacht 'Jessica' moored at South Walsham (about 20 minutes drive from the cottage) and can accommodate up to four people.

Sailing aboard Max's beautifully restored yacht, even if you are not a sailor is the perfect way to enjoy and explore the enchanting beauty of The Broads. You will also see many examples of Norfolk's bird life and perhaps even the occasional Otter. If you sail why not take the helm (if you are brave enough) and experience the challenges and foibles of river sailing!?

If you need further inspiration to find a character filled and a memorable staycation, how about checking out the owners other property in Dorset called Raleighs. Click here to view.

Reviews

Thank you very much for the welcome package! We spent a lovely week in your cottage, and enjoyed our stay. The kitchen is well equipped and the garden is beautiful. We had breakfast outside every morning. We visited Norwich, Bury St Edmunds, Blickling house and the Broads. Very nice!!

Previous Customer,

Lovely warm cosy cottage with everything you need .

Mrs B,

A really comfortable querky cottage in a lovely area. Extremely well supplied with equipment and spares of household items.

Mrs B,

Lovely cottage with lots of character. The kids loved Bewilderwood and seeing the seals at Blakeney. We went to an animal park and did a 3D maze (Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens). Mark, Jess, Isabel & Benjamin.

Mr Mark G,

The Old Post Office is in an idyllic location. Just 20mins from Norwich, yet a quiet country village feel. Quirky, oldy worldy, but all in a good way. The garden is a delight, being very secluded and beautiful. Beds were comfy and very clean. Downsides ? The freezer in the garage, and we were harassed by flies, but these are very small things. Very lovely place for a peaceful break.

Mr K,

Cottage exceeded expectations. Good size, lovely garden, pretty location. Loved some of the artwork - much better than normally found in holiday cottages. Also appreciated the thought and generosity given to equipment and supplies. Warm atmosphere - felt very welcome. Thank you!

Ms Sarah K,

Half Term in Norfolk - Enjoyed boating on the broads, bike rides on Marriotts Way and Bewilderwood! Thanks for a great time. Saw a few dosy wasps in the house, may be a nest somewhere coming onto 1st floor landing.

Mrs Katrina T,
