Little Barningham is a quaint village just 6 miles inland from the popular market town of Holt where there is a good range of shops and facilities. There is plenty of open countryside for walking, or to enjoy cycling the many quiet lanes in the area. In neighbouring Edgefield there is a good pub serving locally sourced food and drink. The cathedral city of Norwich is twenty miles away and is rich in history and culture. The beautiful north Norfolk coast is a short car journey away, explore the delightful traditional seaside towns and stunning beaches. For wildlife lovers the coast has plenty of places to spot birds and interesting wildlife – take a boat trip from Morston to Blakeney Point to see seals basking in their natural habitat or visit the Norfolk Wildlife Trust Visitor Centre at Cley Marshes where there are bird hides and a good café with views over the reserve so you can sit and bird watch with a cup of something in hand!

Reviews

I had a wonderful stay! The shelf in the top bunk bed was so handy for all my books. We all had a great New Year at Aurora Cottage. Sasha (age 7). Charming cottage – beautiful surroundings- we had a lovely stay and will definitely come back and stay again

Hattie D,

We have had a lovely week in this cottage. It is perfectly placed for peace and quiet, but close enough to a number of interesting places to visit. There is a lovely walk over the fields down the side of the cottage to Itteringham which has a lovely community run shop and café that sells almost everything you could want from a village store. The cakes and sausage rolls are delicious!

Edie W,

Enjoyed our week here – a lovely cottage, very quiet and peaceful. Beautifully clean and well equipped. Enjoyed exploring the North Norfolk coast with walks, beaches and many coffee stops.

Nick F,

Lovely cottage in a fantastic setting. Extremely well equipped and maintained. We enjoyed our stay, will return and recommend to friends.

Previous Customer,

Fantastic stay in a gorgeous, comfortable cottage! Great beds! (Never a guaranteed thing in a holiday let). Our favourite places? Canoeing The Broads with the Canoe Man in Wroxham, Overstrand beach, Cromer Pier for crabbing and cycling at Blickling Hall and Sheringham Estate. We love Norfolk.

Mrs P,

We have really enjoyed our stay. Thank you for making the cottage great from a self-catering perspective but maintaining a lovely homely feel. Lovely views, some interesting wildlife, a friendly neighbour and all in all a great base to explore North Norfolk. We really hope to be back.

Emma L,

We have had an amazing week's stay at Aurora Cottage. The cottage is in a beautiful spot and we have thoroughly enjoyed watching the wildlife from the cottage. We particularly enjoyed the beach at Bacton/Walcott which was lovely and great for the kids. We also saw some seals while swimming at Cromer and Bacton. Sad to be leaving such a lovely cottage.

Richard P,

We had a lovely stay in Aurora this week. This was also the first time we had a feel to stay in a home instead of a holiday let. You can feel that the house is loved by its owners. It was a delight staying here and we will certainly return next year.

Peter K,

The main thing is that the hares, muntjak deer, partridges and oyster catcher are all doing fine as far as we can see! Entertainment has reached its zenith with 6 hares and one deer at twilight. Tawny owl just joined the cast at twilight. Right outside bedroom window. Is there a surcharge for such things?
