Once you have your licence, you’re ready to go fishing in the Broads. There is a wide selection of stunning locations for those of all abilities to enjoy fishing Potter Heigham is known to be an excellent spot for beginners, as is Salhouse Broad which is just 8 miles from the thriving city of Norwich. Wroxham, also known as the capital of the Broads, has an extensive water network and is therefore perfect for a boat trip or angling from the river banks. Freshwater fishing can be done on the Ant, Bure, Chet and Thume rivers during the fishing season from June to March. There’s also the opportunity to try offshore fishing by the coast at Wells-next-the-Sea, where you can catch cod, bass and mackerel.
