The village is surrounded by the Welney Wetlands, including WWT Welney Wetland Centre (2.2 miles), which provides opportunities for wildlife watching, while birdwatchers will be in their element at RSPB Ouse Washes (9.5 miles). The cottage also makes a great base for keen anglers, with pike fishing available on the nearby river and a fantastic choice of fishing lakes in Pisces Country Park (1 mile). Further afield, you’ll find independent eateries in the ancient town of Downham Market (12 miles) and in the Cambridgeshire city of Ely (10 miles). For a day of outdoor adventure, journey to Thetford Forest (22 miles), where you can climb amongst the trees at Go Ape.
The semi-detached cottage has a home-away-from-home vibe, with comfortable furniture, traditional décor and an array of cute accessories and artwork. Steps lead down from the parking area to the front door, and once inside you’ll be greeted by a spacious lounge/diner with dual-aspect windows and a roaring open fire. This is the perfect place to relax after a day of outdoor adventure, with a plump sofa and armchairs to sink into and a TV/DVD for enjoying movie nights together. To the rear of the room is a large, wooden dining table where you can gather for memorable mealtimes as a group. Just off the dining area is a separate kitchen equipped with everything needed for a self-catering holiday. Rounding off the ground floor is a refreshing family bathroom. Heading upstairs, choose from two tastefully decorated bedrooms comprising a super-king-size room which features an en-suite with WC and wash basin, and a twin room, both of which boast zip-and-link beds that convert to suit your sleeping arrangements.
Outside, the cottage has two areas for unwinding in the sunshine and enjoying the sounds of the local wildlife. To the front of the cottage is an enclosed lawn with outdoor furniture and plenty of space for children and dogs to play. You’ll also find a small, enclosed seating area to the rear of the cottage. The property has private parking for one car. In addition to the rear garden there is a communal space to the rear of property with a picnic bench.
