A spacious cottage in the pretty rural village of Knapton just 2 miles from Mundesley, one of the many pretty villages dotted along the Norfolk Coast AONB. Well-suited to families and groups of friends keen to explore The Broads and inland market towns, the dog-friendly cottage features two lounge areas, two enclosed patios and access to the owner’s outdoor swimming pool during the summer months.
The cottage sits within the courtyard of Knapton Hall, close to the centre of the village, its large, bright rooms filled with contemporary soft furnishings. Entering via the large entrance hall, a tidy spot for dozing dogs, guests can unwind in one of two lounge areas, one including a dining area and French doors leading to the garden. A large kitchen stands nearby, as does a handy utility room. Two king-size bedrooms, one with an en-suite shower room, are on the first floor, along with a twin bedroom and a family bathroom home to a free-standing roll-top bath. The garden is an astonishing space, comprising two enclosed patio areas ripe for BBQ suppers and quiet time with a good book. As a bonus, guests can access the owner’s walled garden and their outdoor unheated swimming pool between July and September.
Exploring the area around Knapton couldn’t be easier, with an array of trails, lanes and footpaths forking away from the village. Dogs are welcome on the beaches at Mundesley and Cromer (within 9 miles), two coastal settlements rich in Victorian architecture and family-friendly attractions. The market town of North Walsham (3.5 miles) is worth a wander around, while Wroxham (14 miles) is known as the capital of The Broads.
