This contemporary cottage provides a bright and fresh retreat in the peaceful village of Edgefield. A stay in this pretty property promises an unforgettable holiday in the countryside for four friends or family members.

Head inside this charming accommodation and curl up amongst homely comforts, light-flooded rooms, and gorgeous countryside vistas. You'll feel instantly welcomed into the home's sizeable social hub: the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Put your feet up in the seating area with a mug of piping hot tea and a popular box set on the Smart TV or pour yourself a glass of wine and take in the views from the double doors to the courtyard garden. The kitchen/diner is the perfect place to experiment with flavour and whip up a storm for you and your guests. Plate up at the modern breakfast bar and raise a glass to your rural retreat before tucking in. To complete your evening, steal a few private moments for a bubble bath in the family bathroom. Soak away weary muscles and clamber into your cosiest pyjamas whilst the rest of your party decide on their choice of bedroom. Both bedrooms boast contemporary layouts and washing facilities, meaning there's no need to queue in the morning!

When you're not feeding feathered friends at Edgefield's duck pond, the Georgian town of Holt (4 miles) is well worth the drive. Zigzag through the town's quaint alleyways to pick a spot for coffee and cake, or mosey around the selection of art galleries, antique stores and book shops to find yourself a keepsake or two. Beach days are yours for the taking at Cromer (13.5 miles) and Happisburgh (23 miles), while a trip out to Blakeney Point (10 miles) may mean spotting a few of the local characters from the local seal colony.

Turnip cottage is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the Norfolk countryside. It definitely is worth a visit. The view of the horses each morning was a bonus. I would happily live there!

We enjoyed our stay at The Turnip House. It was very comfortable, well equipped and in a quiet and peaceful setting. The layout suited us fine travelling as a couple but guests with children should be made aware that the bedrooms are at opposite ends of the cottage and that there is a short flight of stairs to the main bedroom. This would be usefulRead more information for disabled guests too. Ros & Stuart. Hide

One of the best holiday accommodation we have ever stayed in. Spacious and comfortable, excellent parking in a peaceful setting. Great location for coast and local National Trust properties. We will definitely return.

The property is lovely, situated down a country lane next to a farm. It is modern and very well equipped. We had horses and chickens in the field next to us which added to the rural feeling. The village is small but worth exploring and for shopping, Holt isn't far away.

We took our daughter 4 month old grand daughter to stay for a week in the Turnip House. We were very happy and comfortable. We enjoyed the modernity, the spaciousness, the central heating, the lots of parking, the country location with facilities close by in Holt etc. Minimal phone signal but decent wi-fi. We would stay there again.

We stayed at The Turnip House over the Easter weekend (3 of us) and had a wonderful time. Its in a great location which makes you feel well away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and the property itself is lovely. We particularly loved the little nook upstairs where we got to have a cosy Sunday night. Would certainly recommend for a staycRead moreay! Hide
