Thornham is a quiet picturesque village that forms part of the conservation area on the North West Norfolk Coast. There is a wide sandy beach and a small harbour, both of which form part of a local nature reserve. There are some excellent pub/restaurants in the village one of which has won an award in 2010. The coastal town of Hunstanton is just four miles away, it has a sandy beach and many attractions for children. The Coast Hopper bus can take you to Wells, the RSPB reserve at Titchwell and villages including Brancaster and Burnham Market, an excellent opportunity to leave the car behind and enjoy the scenery.

Brilliant location, short walk to the Coasthopper bus stop, local drivers and very friendly. Lovely food in the pub next door.Mrs H Pawley - 9th May 2014
Captain's Cottage is a great base for a three generation family holiday. We loved the space and the way that the kitchen/dining and sitting rooms were adjacent to one another and a real hub for catching up with one another, even when cooking. The views across the marshes to the sea are stunning and in a week of sun and clear skies, were a constant talking point. The verandah was also great for stargazing. Mrs Thompson - 1st March 2014
The House was everything and more than we expected, Captain's is one of the best equipped and comfortable cottages we have stayed in. It is in a superb position for bird watching, coastal lovers and walkers. The Hulme Family - 2nd July 2011

What a fantastic house in the most ideal location. We have had a brilliant few days and a much needed relaxing break. The house is perfect and the scenery delightful. Food at the Orange Tree was incredible as was the more traditional pub food at The Lifeboat. We have enjoyed early morning birdwatching walks and afternoon strolls along the beach at Weybourne, Old Hunstanton and Brancaster. The Horstead Family - 22nd October 2009

At low tide this dog-friendly beach doubles in size, revealing the expansive golden sands and the wreckage of the SS Vina, a shipwreck from 1944. To the left of the beach’s entran...
