Thornham is a quiet picturesque village that forms part of the conservation area on the North West Norfolk Coast. There is a wide sandy beach and a small harbour, both of which form part of a local nature reserve. There are some excellent pub/restaurants in the village one of which won Good Pub Guide's Dining Pub of the Year 2017. The coastal town of Hunstanton is just four miles away, it has a sandy beach and many attractions for children. The Coast Hopper bus can take you to Wells, the RSPB reserve at Titchwell and villages including Brancaster and Burnham Market, an excellent opportunity to leave the car behind and enjoy the scenery.
What an amazing week. Weather was perfect - lots of evenings sat in the garden - pizza oven (our own), BBQ, + a meal out at The Orange tree - highly recommend. We have been to Brancaster Beach - brilliant for dogs, Wells, Burnham Overy with a kayak, walked from Holkham to Wells. Coastliner bus a must to get about - pub lunch!! The house is a good size - we are 8 adults + 2 dogs. Plenty of bathroom space. Kitchen perfect - everything you need is here. Thank you for a brilliant week :)
This was a great choice for us - house very comfortable and well equipped. We bought a book of walks but only managed one so have left the book for future guests. The Holme / Thornham one was great - we did it from 7:30 to 10:30 and hardly saw a soul. Other highlights - Beans Boat trip & Blakeney ( very helpful especially given limited mobility of my parents) and Holkham Hall
We've had a great stay - thank you and thank you for the welcome pack. It's been great despite the extreme weather Monday Tuesday!! A very comfortable cottage
Brilliant stay - and wonderful weather! Excellent house - very homely, spacious & well equipped. Definitely would recommend! Lovely welcome pack including dogs. Thank you! Loved the photos all around the house too!
Very comfortable house in great location. Especially enjoyed the walk from Thornham to Holme Nature Reserve along the coastal path. Thank you for such a warm welcome
Brilliant weather! Great stay, thanks.
Warm and cosy, Jess has enjoyed finding the carved mice. This is probably the best equipped holiday let we've had. For the most part, a lovely week. Unfortunately a 'Royal' week so everywhere has been even busier, places booked up and the car park prices doubled. We do like Thornham though and will definitely be back.
We had a wonderful stay in The Old Garage - Perfectly situated for exploring the Norfolk Coast (and right next to the pub!) The house is very spacious and well equipped - would definitely recommend and return!
Had a lovely week in the house. So nice and very well equipped. Monty loved his first taste of the sea (literally) and would love to come back.
The Old Garage is a wonderful place and we are sad to go home!
We have had a lovely stay at the wonderful cottage. We would live to come back!
Thank you for making The Old Garage such a comfortable and cosy home. We had a perfect family holiday despite the very stormy weather - in fact, 3 storms. We all loved our stay, "home from home" and the dogs loved it too!
Lovely break to start off dreary January. Very blustery walk in muddy conditions. Thank you as ever.
A very relaxing week in a lovely spacious house. It ticked all the boxes for the five of us, plus of course being in a great location - so handy for using the Coastliner buses. Weather was very good, lots of sun making many long coastal walks really enjoyable. Recommended the Orange Tree, Eric's Fish/chips and Pizzas, Jolly Sailors, Hero Inn and Crab Shed Hut at Brancaster Staiths.
A perfect location for our staycation this year. Comfortable for the 8 of us plus our 2 dogs. The cottage had everything we could possibly need. Although the sun decided to stay away - we made the most of the local beaches and attractions. Thank you making The Old Garage such a great place to relax .
Our latest discovery is Fakenham Thursday market which was brilliant with lots of local stalls and a huge flea market on the main carpark. Really worth a visit. House wonderful as ever - spotlessly clean. Thank you
Depleted party this year (kids work) (commitments etc) so wonderful "please ourselves week" with lots of walking on coast path (overgrown) and beach time/swimming. Highly recommend - the 'Railway Inn at Docking. Friendly service and delicious food with actual veg
A lovely week in the cottage. Perfect for our family to come and see us for a few days. We will be back.
A great week had by all, walking the coast, drinking in the pubs and playing games in the house. Bus service very good for hopping on and off. Orange tree has the best food, Castle rising makes for a good afternoon's short trip. Beautiful landscape and house. comment

A very much appreciated break in your wonderful home, we have loved your comforts, thoughtful provisions and well thought out information. 'Excellent short break' 4 star
What a wonderful house in a fantastic part of the country. We had sunny weather. We visited lots of beaches- all gorgeous and very dog friendly...Thank you
A fantastic property property, virtually unbroken sunshine all week. great food on the storestep, a wonderful break.... thank you
Our time here has been a blessing beyond imagination, lots of sunshine and lots of walks. Thank you for letting us stay so long.
Lovely cottage, well equipped and exceptionally well presented, lots of personnel touches. We have very much enjoyed being in walking distance of the pubs (although still chilly outside) and to be able to walk to the beach from the front door. Excellent accommodation. Looking forward to a meal this evening at The Jolly Sailors.
Wonderful comfortable house, with all you could possibly need creature comfort wise. Have slept so well and thoroughly enjoyed our first stay in Thornham, but i'm sure it won't be our last. would certainly recommend The Old Garage...Thank you
A lovely week in the cottage, perfect for our family to come and see us for a few days..we will be back
Excellent home with lots of space and full of everything we could need and more. Favorite food places..White horse, Deli shop and Eric's fish and chips.
We thoroughly recommend the Old Garage. Spacious, well equipped, comfortable and presented with real care. All 3 pubs within short walking distance, also can walk easily from the door along the bank to the beach. Small but pleasant front garden, very secure for our small dog.
