Snettisham is a pretty village ideally located just five miles away from the Royal Sandringham Estate with the beach and the RSPB bird reserve in Snettisham just a 5 minutes drive from the cottage. Should you wish to leave the car behind there is a regular bus service during the day from King’s Lynn to Hunstanton including the legendary Coast Hopper travelling along the north coast to Holkham, Cromer and beyond. This area is both popular with both families and ornithologists with so much to keep the whole family entertained. Take a trip to the popular Victorian seaside town of Hunstanton and stroll along the promenade, stunning at sunset where the golden rays meet the sea on this unusual west facing coastline. Children can enjoy rock-pooling, paddling or building sandcastles, you can also visit the Sea Life Centre where rescued baby seals can often be seen convalescing. Hunstanton also boasts a Leisure Centre, Bowling alley, Funfair and a variety of independent shops waiting to be explored along the High Street.
Old Hunstanton is another great location where wonderful sand dunes and pretty beach huts are nestled amongst the soft sands and kite surfers decorate the sky with their colourful kites. Visit the Lifeboat Café and enjoy a hearty breakfast or ice creams on the beach. Walkers will appreciate the many coastal paths that extend beyond the Golf Course here all the way to Cromer and beyond to Sea Palling on the north east Norfolk coast. The trail runs through dramatic landscapes and are an area of outstanding natural beauty.

We had a lovely stay at Rose Cottage that was very convenient to the locations that we visited during our holiday in Norfolk. Snettisham is a great village, the cottage was ideal, the owners were gracious and helpful.
