Sedgeford is a quiet village wonderfully placed to discover the many delights Norfolk has to offer. Peddars Rest is nestled on the doorstep of the popular Peddars Way following the route of a Roman road and joining up with the Norfolk coastal path, popular amongst walkers. The village itself has a friendly country Inn; the King William just a ten minute walk away from the cottage. Both family and dog-friendly there are three restaurants to choose from, you can enjoy a Sunday roast in front of the cosy fire, in the warmer months take in the countryside views and a glass of your favourite tipple in the garden. There are wonderful sandy beaches at the nearby coastal villages of Brancaster and Brancaster Staithe along with numerous coastal walks along the Norfolk coastal path with popular pubs and fine eateries there is so much to explore.
At nearby Heacham is the home of Norfolk Lavender. With world famous lavender gardens, oil distillery and tea shop it is a great day out for all the family. A fascinating animal garden with petting barn is perfect for younger children to explore and on rainy days an indoor play barn is perfect for letting off steam! The popular village of Burnham Market is a ten minute drive, enjoy an array of boutique shops, delis and fine eateries. For a more traditional day out visit the popular Victorian seaside town of Hunstanton where you can enjoy pony rides on the beach, take a ride on the fun fair or visit the Sea Life Centre. From the prom you can take a trip on the Wash Monster, an amphibious vessel where you can enjoy seal spotting too!
Idyllic location for a local break away. Very comfortable beds throughout with ample storage. Master bedroom has an ensuite which is finished to a high standard. The general bathroom is a little more outdated with a rubber shower adaptor reminiscent of caravan holidays. But if all guests have access to the ensuite they'll be spoilt with the fantastic rain shower. The lounge is bright and comfortable which leads up to the large dining room. Every type of glass, mug and bowl you could need is supplied! The kitchen has a great (very effective) cooker, so keep an eye on your food! The breakfast bar is a little uneven and the stools are not very comfy, but it is a great feature. The garden is lovely, very long and well maintained. The decking overlooking the field is a great spot for your morning coffee along with the dawn chorus. There's a picnic table for outdoor eating with a small BBQ available. The outdoor seating was broken and we dare not use it. To the front there is ample parking for two cars. Very friendly neighbours and so much wildlife. Walks in either direction along the Peddars way were lovely.
