Heacham has two local beaches just a few minutes’ walk away, where you can enjoy the amazing sunsets that West Norfolk is famed for. For explorers a gentle stroll along the promenade is rewarded with the sights of the neighbouring Victorian seaside town of Hunstanton, with its esplanade gardens and striking red cliffs. Just beyond is the village of Old Hunstanton where you can explore the undulating sand dunes and hide amongst the quintessential beach huts. In the distance you are likely to spot the colourful kites in the big blue skyline, popular with water sport enthusiasts. There is no need to leave the village for provisions as there are an array of shops on your doorstep. Thornham is a short drive down the coast with wonderful walks and restaurants. Bird watchers will enjoys the RSPB reserves at Titchwell and Snettisham where many birds migrate to this wonderful part of Norfolk.
Very spacious and comfortable.
Excellent property at the right location, easy access to beach, walking trails, pubs and shops. Very friendly locals and holiday makers. First stay in Heacham, will definitely revisit.
Wonderful friendly helpful team at Norfolk Country Cottages. Property we stayed at over the Christmas week was wonderful, a home away from home with the added benefit of the glorious North Norfolk coast
Wonderful property, all amenities though of to make a very comfortable and enjoyable stay for guests.
We have enjoyed a wonderful week here in beautiful Norfolk. The cottage is comfortable and tastefully decorated with everything we needed to for our stay. Sara Holt at Norfolk Cottages was very helpful when we had a problem with the shower attachment. I'm so glad we made use of the offer with Norfolk Deli, there was a delicious cottage pie, nectarine crumble and weekend hamper all redy for us on our arrival. Holkham beach was awesome! What a spectacular beach! The boys loved playing in the sand dunes and the walk refreshed us all. The steam railway from Wells to Walsingham is really worth doing (longest 10 1/4" narrow gauge steam railway in the world). Wonderful countryside views and a tasty lunch at The Black Lion. A trip to Wells resulted in a stop at an art gallery selling interesting pieces of Nelson memorabilia. On the back of this we visited Burnham Thorpe to see where Nelson was born. We visited All Saints Church there and saw the enormous flags from his ship. Burnham Market nearby was excellent for some retail therapy! Stopped at Brancaster Beach for another afternoon of walking and sea air. Really delighted to find a ray egg which wecould indentify having visited the Sea Life Centre earlier in the week!
Delightful property, beyond our expectations - well equipped. Excellent situation for our coastal walking with bus passes. I don't know who ordered the weather but it was more like June than October.
Excellent accommodation and location.
What a beautiful house and in the right position to venture to many restaurants, pubs, beaches and more. The Rose & Crown in Snettisham was our favourite place to eat at. We had amazing weather so sat in the well maintained garden one hot afternoon. Old Hunstanton is wonderful. Bircham Windmill was a treat.
