Heacham is a seaside village typical of the north-west Norfolk coast and set alongside two lovely sandy beaches. Bustling and busy, it is well served for shops, with many well renowned pubs and first class restaurants to be found in the locality. While away your days with a visit to the famous Norfolk Lavender farm in Heacham, go rock pooling and fossil hunting at nearby Hunstanton, try your hand at golf and horse riding available locally, or visit the RSPB reserves at Titchwell or Snettisham. The Royal Estate of Sandringham is only a short drive away and if the sea beckons, you can take an escorted trip out to the local seal colony. There is much to do here that will draw you back time and again.
Beautiful area with lots to do, excellent for dog owners as very dog friendly. Dottys cottage is in an ideal part of Heacham, its about 15min walk from the beach and 5 mins from supermarket and takeaways. We highly recommend Dottys cottage and Heacham Thankyou
Fantastic cottage, would highly recommend it. Location was great, our dog loved it. Just a 20 minute walk to the beach. The village hasn't many shops but Tesco express is close by and there's a Lidi on A149 near the lavender fields. Hunstanton is a good walk which is reachable along the beachfront.
The house is well placed as a base to tour about, although compact it’s well thought through and used. Locally there are lots of beaches and Sandringham estate which we thoroughly enjoyed.
Dotty's Cottage is charming and traditional holiday home. You can make the garden secure so good for children and pets. We felt right at home straight away. It's a short walk for shops and takeaways and a longer but very pretty walk to the beach. Our first time to the area and it was everything we were hoping for. So very peaceful and very relaxing. All in all near on perfect for us.
We had a lovely time at this cottage. Very relaxing and welcoming. The beach hut and boat theme suited the cottage perfectly and the facilities were everything we needed. We took our dog and there is a stair gate so that you can prevent your pet going upstairs if needed. We used it when he got wet on the beach to protect the carpet but wood floors downstairs which are good when returning from beach and wet conditions. There is no door from kitchen to lounge which wasn't an issue for us as our dog never even tries to climb on furniture but it's good to know if you do have those concerns. For us it was all great. Everything is within walking distance but can't comment on surrounding venues as still in partial lockdown but there's enough around the area.
The cottage was well located in the centre of Heacham with easy access to the shops and beach. It was great to have our own parking space and garden to sit in. The owners made us feel very welcome
