Dersingham nestles in the embrace of the Royal Estate of Sandringham and is surrounded by beautiful countryside and woodland. There are many fine examples of the local carrstone and flint architecture to be found within this thriving village which is rich in history. A good choice of local beaches, the nearest at Snettisham is only two miles away, with the coastal resorts of North and West Norfolk readily accessible. The area offers good walking and cycling opportunities and if ornithology is a passion then Dersingham boasts its own English Nature Reserve, with Holme - Norfolk Wildlife Trust, Titchwell and Snettisham - RSPB reserves a short distance away. The village has a wide variety of local shops and a prize winning CAMRA pub, serving food.
Had a great week away, lovely property and truly pet friendly.
A lovely cottage with a very pleasant and dog friendly garden, everything we could have wanted was included even some blankets for our dog. We would definitely stay here again.
The property is ideally suited both for local shops / pubs and also exploring the Norfolk coast.
Avocet cottage was a cozy, comfortable and well-equipped cottage which was the perfect place for us to stay when visiting North Norfolk. The owner was particularly generous with discretionary items such as cleaning materials, salt, vinegar, sauces, tea, milk and coffee. We spent many hours during our stay sitting in the back garden relaxing and listening to the birdsong which was lovely. Overall we would highly recommend this cottage to any visitors.
