Thimble Cottage is a quaint traditional carstone formerly owned by the HM the Queen as part of the Royal Sandringham Estate. Boasting some character features with original pamment tiled floor the cottage is surprisingly roomy with two double bedrooms and a large bathroom on the first floor. Downstairs there is a single bedroom, just off the main sitting room, which could be used as a playroom or bedroom having a full-size single day-bed as well as a cloak room. The kitchen/diner is well equipped and double aspect with French doors on the decked garden, range-style cooker, dishwasher, washing machine and dining facilities too. The sitting room boasts a cosy wood burner and is a perfect place to relax and enjoy a glass of wine on a winter’s evening whilst warming your toes by the glowing embers with your four-legged friend at your feet with two well-behaved dogs welcome. Dersingham is a popular village bordering the Royal Estate of Sandringham, surrounded by woodland walks and beautiful countryside with the village boasting a variety of high quality shops; award-winning butchers, supermarket and garden centre with adjacent tea shop. For those with a particular sweet tooth why not visit the fabulous tea rooms ‘Petals’ located at the foot Sandringham Hill enjoy fancy cakes in a traditional environment perhaps followed by a stroll around Sandringham House and Gardens whilst youngsters can let off steam in the adventure playground. There are plenty of fine restaurants and eateries close-by, the award winning Rose & Crown at Snettisham is popular with locals and visitors to the area at nearby Snettisham. There are dog-friendly beaches nearby at Snettisham and neighbouring Heacham which has two beaches, North and South beach; a promenade is a lovely way to appreciate the coastline with a gentle stroll to the Victorian seaside town of Hunstanton. The area also offers good walking and cycling opportunities; if ornithology is your passion then why not visit the RSPB reserve at snettisham, featured on springwatch or a little further around the coastline there is the Norfolk Wildlife Trust at Holme-next-the-Sea and Titchwell Bird Reserve.
