It is two miles from the splendid sandy beach at Brancaster with the traditional seaside resort of Hunstanton seven miles away. The beaches at Heacham, Holme, Holkham and Wells harbour are all nearby and there are also many bird reserves in the area. The village of Docking which is close by has a large general store, a pub and a fish and chip shop. There is also a large playing field with a tennis court. There are golf courses close by and the popular towns of Holt and Burnham market are only a short drive away.
