Lilac Cottage is located within easy walking distance of the pretty harbour and creeks; ideal for sailors where dinghies and sailing yachts greet the changing tides and walkers can explore coastal paths through the changing seasons. The neighbouring village of Brancaster boasts long soft sandy beaches, and can also be accessed on the coasthopper bus; a great way to explore the coastline so why not jump aboard and discover the pretty coastal villages. Alternatively enjoy a day in Burnham Market; visit the boutique shops nestled around the village green or pop into the ‘Hoste Arms’ for lunch followed by a treatment or two with luxury Spa facilities available to book too. Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty there are plenty of popular sights to discover, visit Holkham Hall with tours of the impressive marble hall or visit the walled gardens, all set in a natural woodland landscape where the statuesque red deer herd wander freely. Wells-next-the-Sea is a few minutes drive to the East; a popular coastal town on the North Norfolk coast also popular amongst sailors and a thriving fishing port too. The soft sands of Well-next-the-Sea are decorated with colourful beach huts; and grey seals can often be seen basking at the water’s edge at low tide. The popular villages of Morston and Blakeney are a little further around the coastline and a great day for the whole family; great for spotting these playful creatures with boat trips available throughout the year.
