West Runton is a small coastal village on the North Norfolk Coast with a great sandy beach and delightful cliff walks. The village has shops and pubs for everyday needs. Sheringham with its steam railway is a slightly larger town with a swimming centre, theatre, shops and restaurants. Cromer is a much larger traditional seaside town, famous for Cromer crabs and the traditional family 'end of pier' show, it also boasts an award winning fish and chip restaurant at No 1 with great views from its first floor restaurant. This is a great area to be on holiday with loads to see and do, which will suit all ages.

Reviews

Lovely characterful cottage with lots of great walks on the doorstep and within easy reach of the beach and Norfolk coastal path.

Mrs H,

Well located between sherringham and Cromer in quiet rural location.

Mr C,

Lovely old house, very well equipped and with a beautiful, enclosed garden. Black-out blinds provided in the bedrooms were very helpful! We had a very enjoyable week here and hardly used the car, as there’s so much to do within walking distance and the train station is just down the road. We loved the beach (lots of sand and rock pools - and we walked all the way along to Cromer and back). Other highlights were the animal sanctuary, the steam railway from Sheringham to Holt and our boat trip from Wroxham. The village store is great (they had fresh crab, local strawberries and locally baked cakes!) and we had good food from the Thai takeaway and at the Village Inn. We also loved the wooden toy shop. We’d definitely recommend Hillside for a family holiday - and would happily come back!

Mrs H,

Hillside is a wonderful cottage, which caters for up to 8 people, but which is also really cozy for fewer guests. Whatever the weather, the beautiful house with a wonderful Aga in the kitchen, the garden and the surrounding make it a wonderful place to relax and recharge. Cromer and Sheringham are in walking distance and there is a large wood behind the house too, which means dogs will love it there as much as humans.

Dr H,

Excellent property. AGA cooker particularly appreciated. Very good takeaways in village- RockyBottom for fresh fish and Pepperpot for French food. Lots of walks and NT properties within easy reach.
