Wells-next-the-Sea is a delightful holiday spot with picturesque harbour and fishing port located on the beautiful North Norfolk Coast. A perfect spot for crabbing; and with fresh shell fish available you can enjoy the ‘catch of the day’ or Fish and Chips from ‘French’s’ on the Quay. Alternatively visit the Albatross, a former Dutch cargo ship built in 1899 and sample pancakes on board one of the oldest sailing ships permanently moored alongside the Quay with bar. There are plenty of local pubs and restaurants to savour (The Crown and The Globe are well known), as well as delicatessens, butchers, fishmonger and boutique shops, which can be found nestled amongst the pretty lanes. The whole family will enjoy a trip to the beach, take a stroll along the coastal path or hop aboard the Wells harbour railway and take in the stunning views from the beach where you can often spot the grey seals basking along the shoreline, followed by coffee at the beach café. A lovely day out can also be had at neighbouring Holkham - take a stroll along the shoreline from Wells-next-the-Sea and follow the coastal path around to Holkham for a great day out in summer; explore the grounds where the deer herd roam.
