Thursford is located midway between the towns of Fakenham and Holt and only six miles from Wells-next-the-Sea. It is an excellent location for a holiday, offering visitors the chance to enjoy the peace and quiet of a rural setting but also providing easy access to the many attractions in the area. The village is best known for the Thursford Collection, but is also home to Thursford Wood, a medieval wood pasture containing some of the oldest trees in the country. Explore the quiet country lanes by bike or on foot and enjoy a pit stop at one of the many local village pubs as you go. For history lovers Binham Priory is home to the remains of an impressive monastic site. Cromer and Sheringham offer a taste of traditional Norfolk seaside towns, each with lovely beaches, shops, restaurants and amenities. The Poppy Line Railway runs steam and diesel engines from Sheringham to Holt, stopping in Weybourne, for an opportunity to journey back in time. There are plenty of eateries both coastal and inland where you can sample local delicacies such as Samphire and crab in the summer months, or a tipple or two of locally brewed ale or distilled gin. This area is a ‘foodies’ paradise!
