Thursford is located midway between the towns of Fakenham and Holt and only a few miles from the North Norfolk coast. It is an excellent location for a holiday, offering visitors the chance to enjoy the peace and quiet of a rural setting but also providing easy access to the many attractions in the area. The village is best known for the Thursford Collection, but is also home to Thursford Wood, a medieval wood pasture containing some of the oldest trees in the country.
Hay House had everything we needed for a stress free and relaxing stay. The cottage is well equipped and in a good location for exploring the North Norfolk Coast. Everyone in our group enjoyed their stay adults, children and dogs and we hope to return in the future.
We had a wonderful holiday at The Hay House. The photos don’t do it justice! The location was perfect for the many places we had earmarked to visit, from NT properties and gardens, to the beautiful north Norfolk coast. We will definitely return.
Having stayed in many cottages over the years, this is definitely a place we would all love to return to. It was spotless and very well equipped. A wonderful garden area too.. the children didn’t want to leave!
Lovely quiet comfortable property, you will need a car for any amenities.
Three old friends plus one dog had a lovely week in north Norfolk. The Hay House is conveniently located near the A148, with easy access to the coast and major towns and sites of interest, but in a quiet, attractive village. The house is comfortable and cosy and was a great base for us to explore North Norfolk for the first time. There is a large grassy garden for the dog. It is not totally secure with regard to the hedging, but was a very good space for morning and evening walks. We recommend the Crawfish Inn for Thai takeaway!
