Nestled in the heart of the north west Norfolk countryside, South Raynham is a small historic village approximately five miles from Fakenham and just a short drive to the beautiful North Norfolk coast. The fabulous Raynham Hall, just outside the village, was built in 1619 by Sir Roger Townsend. The estate covers 7000 acres and occupies the first seven miles of the Wensum River. It is one of the oldest buildings in Norfolk and is heavily inspired by European architecture. With wonderful walks down the River Wensum from the adjoining village of West Raynham, there are beautiful trails on your doorstep and plenty of wildlife to see. Also close to some great places to eat including The Dabbling Duck at Great Massingham and The Crown Inn at Rudham. The nearby market town of Fakenham has a variety of shops, restaurants, pubs, cinema, bowling alley, golf and racecourse. The North Norfolk coast with its beautiful beaches and RSPB nature reserves, and seals at Blakeney point is only a short 20-30 minute drive away. Culture vultures will love its proximity to the numerous stately homes; including Houghton Hall, Holkham Hall, HM The Queen's Sandringham Estate or Oxburgh Hall. For those more interested in nature, then head to Pensthorpe Wildlife reserve where you will see native birds and wildlife in their natural habitat.

The family had a very happy time & enjoyed all the facilities.

Mrs L,

We had the most wonderful time with family and friends celebrating our Golden Wedding; just perfect. What a grand house to stay in! Beautiful grounds and facilities on our doorstep.. Thank you. PS I can imagine that the house would also be perfect for corporate getaways.

Mrs L,

Lovely house ,very spacious so very good for large families or groups. Standard of linen, towels and equipment very high .

Mrs P,

Beautiful house in a lovely location. Very well equipped, with all you need for a comfortable self catering holiday. Use of a car is essential as distance to shops, restaurants etc. is a bit too far for walking.

Mr H,

Beautiful house, we had a fabulous week. Adults, teenagers and dog all happy.

Ms Polly H,

Had a brilliant time, everything here that you need, perfect holiday home.

Mrs Emma W,

We had a super time - glorious weather. Lots of swimming and tennis and we loved the house.

Mr Dominic B,
