Enjoy the delights of this exceptional coastal retreat with amazing views of the marshes, coast and sea from both inside and outside the cottage. Beautifully refurbished with plenty of space for all, the cottage has a sociable, bright and light kitchen/dining room, one of the bedrooms is on the ground floor with views to die for - you won’t want to wake up anywhere else - and a cosy living room with a wood burner to keep toes and paws warm after winter walks. The living room also features the perfect spot to birdwatch - binoculars provided. The terrace to the rear of the house is just the place for al fresco dining and the front garden offers great views of the coast. With no light pollution, star-gazing is pretty popular here too! The local gastro-pub is within walking distance and a good village shop is close by. A more gorgeous spot would - probably - be hard to find. Shop/Pub: within walking distance

Salthouse is an unspoilt conservation village situated on the north Norfolk Coast in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village is well represented with the award winning Cookies Crabshop serving local seafood and produce as well as the Dun Cow pub. It is an ideal location for exploring the diverse coastline, from the popular resorts of Sheringham and Cromer to the picturesque villages of Cley-next-the-Sea and Blakeney, all of which are within a few miles and can be accessed via the ever-popular Coast Hopper bus service if you don’t want to take the car. The nearby glorious sandy beaches at Wells-next-the-Sea and Holkham are wide, spacious and backed by pine woods and don’t miss a visit to Holkham Hall and deer park, home to the Earl of Leicester. The area is a year-round haven for ornithologists, walkers and nature lovers, with many bird reserves, good fishing and excellent walks close by. Enjoy a boat trip to north Norfolk’s seal colonies from either Blakeney or Morston quays or hire a dinghy for some local sailing adventures of your own. There is much to do here and once discovered you will surely want to return.
Fantastic house and location! Attention to detail, uncluttered but everything you need. Nice welcome pack too. Very comfortable and would definitely recommend.
A beautifully renovated and comfortable cottage in a scenic and very peaceful location, great gardens, all well maintained. The marsh view from the patio windows kept us very happy indeed! We will certainly stay at Eastgate again as it really suits our needs and is one of the best of the Salthouse cottages we have stayed in over the years.
