For a quiet holiday by the sea in pretty Norfolk, stay at this traditional cottage in Overstrand, a sleepy coastal town with an Edwardian feel. The property is over 200 years old, and retains many of its original features, such as low ceilings downstairs, vaulted ceilings upstairs and impressive wooden beams throughout. It sleeps four guests over its two bedrooms, and one dog is welcome, too, making it perfect for a family or two couples and their pet. During your stay, look forward to long days spent on the sandy beach just 500 metres away, and scenic walks exploring the coastal slopes and farmland of this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Upon arrival, take a moment to admire the property’s quintessentially Norfolk brick-and-stone facade before stepping inside. The interior is brimming with rustic charm, with latch-key doors, redbrick inglenook fireplace, wooden floors and tasteful antique-style furniture. Enjoy a quiet sit down in the charming lounge, which has a wood burner you can spark up if it’s chilly. The sweet kitchen has everything you need to keep your party well-fed, with meals to be enjoyed in the quaint dining room. On warm days, you’ll have the choice of two outdoor spaces at the front and rear, both furnished so you can dine alfresco.

When it’s time to explore your surroundings, you’ll find a shop and a pub serving food within 150 metres. For an easy-going scenic treat you can enjoy with the dog, walk along the coast to Cromer, a Victorian seaside resort 3 miles away. As you saunter over the clifftops, you’ll be wowed by the watery views. If you fancy exploring some cultural sites, we recommend the National Trust properties of Blickling Hall (11.5 miles) and Felbrigg (4.5 miles). The Georgian town of Holt also makes a wonderful day trip, with its independent shops, art galleries and welcoming cafes.

It is a lovely cottage and we had a lovely time. It was very comfortable and warm and feels very homely. We would definitely come again and would recommend it to anyone. It is situated very near to the beach and there are lots of lovely dog walks from the cottage.

This property was beautiful and just perfect for our weekend break. So near to the beach for local walks and an easy walk along the beach to Cromer. Also, near enough to all other attractions if you dont mind a short drive. The cottage is placed on a narrow road only wide enough for dropping bags off but plenty of road side parking a few minutes wRead morealk away. One caveat, you need to be pretty agile/able to cope with the old stairs going up to the main bedroom. We got used to them though. The cottage is the perfect seaside cottage and so peaceful, it was a really quiet and restful break. Would definitely go back. Hide

The service of your website was good, though a couple of properties came up that were not available. Some feedback on the property: While it was lovely and conveniently located, I would recommend lined /blackout curtains to keep out the sun as 4am sunrise came straight through the existing curtains into the main bedroom.
