The village of Langham is a charming north Norfolk village with a pretty church and cottages featuring the local brick and flint architecture. It is a great springboard for exploring this part of Norfolk being just minutes from the coast, marshes and fabulous sandy beaches at Wells-next-the-Sea and Holkham. From here it is also easy to explore many of the delightful coastal villages such as Blakeney and Cley-next-the-Sea, which has a world renowned birdwatching centre nearby. Much of this part of the coastline is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and other pleasures to be enjoyed here are sailing, visiting historic houses and crabbing on the quayside - which will keep all members of the family happily entertained for hours! Walking the quiet lanes, nearby heaths and parks such as Kelling Heath and the National Trust's Sheringham Park, which affords great views down to the coast are also worth seeking out. There is a handy village pub, The Blue Bell, serving good food and take away fish and chips and there other excellent restaurants and gastro-pubs plus cafes and delicatessens nearby, giving ample opportunities to sample the local gastronomic delights that Norfolk is justifiably famous for. Venture inland to discover the wonderful Georgian town of Holt, a landmark for the area, with its antique shops, independent fashion boutiques, art galleries, cafes and tea rooms and whilst here take a journey on the local steam railway for a coastal journey to Sheringham. With so much to see and do, many happy memories will be made and a return visit will be a certainty.
Thank you so much for the hamper, the cream teas went down a treat especially after a long drive/late arrival. Everything was perfect, great garden for the dogs! Beds were very comfortable, everything we needed was available to us. Mostly a dog-walking holiday so we visited Holkham Hall (walked the grounds) and Holkham beach several times (a firm favourite, expecially for our dogs!). We all had a nice meal at the Blue Bell, fish and chips at Wells-next-the-Sea and even a takeaway curry from Holt. Sheringham NT Park was lovely and we did the extra walk out to the coastal path and back. Fab time - we will be back!
We have very much enjoyed staying at Hollybush House. The weather has been perfect. Used the log burner two evenings and it made the lounge nice and cosy. We visited Holt with its independent shops and enjoyed lunch at the Folly Tea Room. Had walks at Brancaster, West Runton, Blakeney and Cley-next-the-Sea. Went to Wiveton Hall cafe for lunch. It has felt very homely staying at Hollybush. Thank you for the hamper, dog treats and poo bags!
Lovely house to stay in, and perfect for the dogs. Beds are so comfortable and we found everything we needed. Thanks so much!
Great holiday! We really enjoyed the house. Very comfortable and well equipped. We loved reacquainting ourselves with Norfolk after a long time, we look forward to coming back soon. Thankyou for the hamper- much appreciated!
Wonderful Holiday. The house is perfectly stocked and really comfortable for a family of 4. We slept really week, beds are so comfy. Norfolk is great - it was our first visit, we will be back! Holkham was our favourite spot for a day out and Blakeney was great for crabbing. Thankyou so much for a wonderful family holiday.
From the moment we walked through the door at Hollybush we felt at home! A wonderful welcome basket matched a wonderful place to stay. Hollybush is an ideal location for peace and tranquillity, yet only a stones throw from Sheringham and Cromer. We have been very lucky with the weather and have had such an amazing week that we are sorry to leave! We have finished our week with a lovely walk to Morston Quay, topped off with takeaway chips from The Bluebell. Thankyou so much for a holiday we will never forget, we hope to be back in the future!
We had a wonderful time staying at Hollybush, this is the nicest house we have stayed in. It is a great base for exploring the fabulous coastline and pretty villages in this area. The beach at Holkham is vast and beautiful, Blakeney is great for Crabbing and West Runton is perfect for family fun and rock pooling. The Smokehouse and Picnic Fayre in Cley are well worth a visit. We had a wonderful holiday and hope to come back soon.
