Property code: OC-2176

For a solo traveller or a couple wanting to escape to the countryside but also be near the sea, this cottage is simply perfect. It’s a little gem with charm and character plus all mod cons, set in the heart of Holt and close to boutique shops, welcoming pubs and fabulous places to eat.

Old beams, brick and flint, and latched wooden doors nod to the age of this lovely property, but you’ll find all the modern conveniences you’ll need here, too. Step through the partly glazed from door from the street, down two steps, and you’re immediately in the rustic kitchen area of the open-plan living space. Ahead of you, a deep-seated sofa faces the flame-effect electric fire and a Smart TV, while at the end of the room there’s a small dining table and chairs just for two. Climb the steep, cottage-style stairs to the first floor, where there’s a bedroom with a king-size, cast-iron bed, vaulted ceiling and exposed brick-and-flint walls. This fabulous space also boasts an en-suite shower room. Although there is no private outside space, Holt’s peaceful memorial gardens are directly opposite for you to enjoy.

Holt is renowned for its Georgian architecture, and has a variety of unique shops, art galleries and antique emporia to explore, as well as a good selection of restaurants, cafes and pubs. Its country park boasts more than 200 acres of heath and woodland to wander, and the town is also home to the North Norfolk Steam Railway: enjoy a ride to Weybourne and Sheringham on a diesel or steam train. The coastal villages of Cley, Blakeney and Salthouse are all within a 6-mile drive or, if you feel like a day trip to a traditional seaside town, Sheringham is 7.5 miles and Cromer 10.5 miles.

  • 1 king-size bedroom
  • 1 bathroom with glass shower cubicle and WC
  • Electric free-standing cooker with hob, microwave, fridge with ice box, slimline dishwasher, Nespresso coffee machine
  • Welcome pack included
  • Smart TV
  •  Restricted roadside parking and public car park behind property.
  • Beach 7 miles, pub and shops less than 0.5 miles

Nice cottage in a good location. Beware of the stairs, they are steep and awkward.

This was a beautiful, cosy, tastefully decorated historic cottage, in a perfect location. We enjoyed our stay immensely, and were particularly touched by the gift bag of local products that greeted us on our arrival. A perfect place to spend Christmas in Norfolk.

A lovely cosy cottage which makes a great base for exploring north Norfolk. Although you may have to duck to get through doorways, this just adds to the charm and character of the property. All the amenities we could need were provided and the maps and binoculars were a particularly nice touch. Although there are no dedicated parking spaces, we fouRead morend it easy enough to find parking on some of the housing estates close by. Hide

Excellent location in the centre of Holt. Ideal cottage for a couple wanting a base to explore the North Norfolk coast. Close to Cley Next the Sea beach with its wonderful deli and windmill. The cottage is well equipped and has been brought up to date without losing the original features and period charm. Watch out for parking though; the Albert StRead morereet car park gets very congested during the day in holiday season. Hide
