Holt is a renowned Georgian town with a charm and character of its own, with an interesting selection of shops, restaurants, pubs and tea rooms. On the outskirts of the town is the popular Poppy Line railway run by amateur enthusiasts and is one of the main attractions in the area. There are good beaches at Sheringham, 6 miles, Holkham, 8 miles and Cromer, 10 miles. The area is also a birdwatcher's paradise with Cley Marshes and Titchwell (RSPB) only a short drive, with Snettisham and Stubbs Mill further on. Several historic homes are nearby - Holkham Hall, Fellbrigg Hall, The Blickling Estate and Oxburgh Hall. The Cathedral City of Norwich is 20 miles away, the Royal Estate at Sandringham is 25 miles and The Broads 30 miles away.

Another fabulous stay at owl cottage. We love this ‘home from home’ property. Great beaches to visit nearby – Holkham is our favourite. Branston [the dog] also enjoyed a walk in Holt Country Park. We enjoyed meals at the Three Horseshoes in Wareham and the Wiveton Bell. Too many cafes to mention!! Owl Cottage was a great base for exploring and for enjoying a cosy night in. Thank you.” Ceri & Paul, Essex.

Mrs Ceri A,

The property was very comfortable and well equipped. The location is good, with an easy walk to the shops. Driving on and off the property requires care as it is close to a busy junction. We had a very enjoyable stay.

Mr H,

Owl Cottage was a very comfortable venue for active dog walkers. The facilities were excellent. We did have a plumbing problem arise, but this was dealt with as promptly and efficiently as possible. Altogether, a delightful break, in spite of appalling weather!
