High Kelling is an attractive village close to the north Norfolk coast and a superb area for walking; if you are feeling energetic enough you can reach the coast from here via Kelling Heath. To the north-west, the coastal villages of Cley-next-the-Sea with its Norfolk Wildlife Trust birdwatching and visitor centre, Salthouse and Blakeney are all within easy reach, whilst head east and you will find the delights of the popular seaside towns of Sheringham and Cromer with lovely beaches and cliff walks. The nearby Georgian town of Holt has a diverse selection of shops, pubs, restaurants and a thriving cafe culture, as well as being one of the starting points for the Poppy Line steam railway, which has a pretty run along the coast from Holt to Sheringham. Two National Trust houses are a short distance away and Sheringham Park offers gentle walks and beautiful views whatever the weather. This is a great location for exploring the countryside and coast at any time of the year.
