East Runton is an attractive coastal village and part of north Norfolk’s Deep History Coast discovery trail, which runs 22 miles along the coast from Cart Gap to Weybourne.  An interactive trail, it explores the history of this part of the coast as it was, thousands of years ago. The village has a good local shop, pub and a lovely sandy beach all within easy walking distance of the house. The area is full of attractions, such as Cromer Pier with its own theatre, Amazona Zoo, the National Trusts’ Felbrigg Hall, golf at both West Runton and Cromer and Sheringham has a lovely coastal steam railway journey from the town itself, to the elegant Georgian town of Holt.  One of the best ways to discover the area is to take a trip on the Coast Hopper bus service, which runs from Cromer to Hunstanton. It offers numerous stop off points in many Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and you will come across plenty of quaint coastal villages, good farm and food shops, art galleries, gift shops, pubs and restaurants along the way.
