East Runton lies on the A149 coast road between the resorts of Sheringham and Cromer. A steepish lane leads down to the beach where at low tide there is a wide expanse of flat sand perfect for sandcastles or ball games. The beach is backed by high cliffs and there are paths into Cromer or the neighbouring village of West Runton. Away from the coast is a cluster of traditional brick and flint cottages, and an attractive green and duck pond. The village is well placed for exploring the area but if you wish to remain closer to home there are several small shops, two pubs and a restaurant serving meals.
Thank you so much for a marvellous week in your lovely cottage - we have been so comfortable in The Orchard .... and only wish we were staying longer to enjoy the summerhouse and more of the coast. We are going home with so many memories. Pensthorpe was new to us and we spent almost a day there exploring the outer reaches - the wildflower meadow etc. NWT, Cley draws us back time and time again with its wide skies, sunsets, marsh harriers & geese. We also had excellent days at Sandringham, Castle Rising, Ranworth (boat from fairhaven to St. Benets Abbey), Felbrigg & Holkham estates.
A wonderful bungalow, a real home from home. Been to East Runton lots of times but still enjoy. Lovely weather helped to make this a really great holiday. The walk on Monday was lovely about 3 miles, not bad for us golden oldies.
Excellent holiday bungalow. Our first visit to North Norfolk did not disappoint. Try Rocky Bottoms if you want an expensive treat. Enjoyed seeing the flock of geese ambling round the village.
This is a superb cottage, has everything you would need for your stay, very impressed.
Superb holiday cottage. All you need. Really enjoyed our break here, love North Norfolk. Thank you very much.
Back in Norfolk after 35 years! As lovely as we remember it. The Orchard is a great place to relax and explore from. House spotless and immaculate, very comfortable beds! Blickling, Felbrigg, No.1 Cromer, Seals at Blakeney, and still so much not yet visited! Wont leave it so long next time! Thank you.
What a wonderful holiday! We enjoyed this lovely place and felt so comfortable, although we cannot remember such a hot and dry English summer... Thank you for your warm welcome, looking forward to next year. (20th July - 17th Aug)
This is a wonderful property located in the nicest part of this seaside village. The owners were very friendly and helpful, without being intrusive, and the accommodation was of an excellent standard. My old mum, who is becoming quite infirm, loved it and found it very easy to move around.
We have had a enjoyable week and have visited many interesting places in our first time in Norfolk. Your bungalow is really lovely and very comfortable - we could not wish for better, thank you and our best wishes for the future.
We have really enjoyed our week here. As "first time" self caterers - we have loved it, including the lovely weather. The Orchard certainly deserves its awards. Excellent cleanliness, equipment & lovely comfy beds. We will certainly return when we holiday in Norfolk again.
We've had a brilliant holiday. After 40 years of self catering in this country The Orchard is the best equipped and cleanest we have ever stayed in. A comfy bed, clean cooker plus a defrosted fridge were welcome and The Orchard well deserves its awards. Thank you and all the best for your wild garden - fork the nettles out!
5th visit to this beautiful bungalow in beautiful Norfolk. Thank you for 5 memorable stays. Keep up the good work.
Fabulous throughout.. from welcome, to cleanliness, to warmth, to space, ......has everything needed. Is in good position for North Norfolk Coast......could sing it’s praises all day!!
Booking the bungalow through the website was very straightforward and secure. All the details about the property were accurate and comprehensive. The bungalow was spacious, and beautifully fitted out with good quality furniture, furnishings and equipment. The kitchen had everything you could need with ample pots, pans, cutlery and appliances. Even dishwasher and laundry tablets were provided. The bungalow lacked for nothing and had its own private garden, complete with garden furniture. The location was very quiet yet convenient for public transport to Cromer, Sheringham and other towns and villages. The owners were on hand should anything be needed but they did not intrude and were very hospitable. All in all, we would definitely recommend The Orchard at East Runton for a comfortable and relaxing holiday.
