Think of Cromer and the first thing you think of is the famous Cromer crabs, freshly caught and so much smaller, sweeter and meatier than any other crabs found in the country. However you may not know Cromer is also known for being an excellent family holiday destination, if you are bringing children armed with buckets & spades they won’t be disappointed as this town is defiantly geared up with a traditional seaside feel.
You will find an awarded blue flag sandy beach, cafes, ice cream parlours, amusement arcades, fish & chip shops, a cinema, museums, and a pier with a pavilion theatre showing a variety of family seaside shows to keep the whole family entertained.
We would highly recommend you climb the magnificent church, the tallest in Norfolk and a mere 160 steps to the top, but worth everything for the breath-taking views you will experience across Cromer and out to sea.
Also whilst staying in Cromer be sure to visit Amazona Zoo which is home to over 200 animals, here you can get up close to jaguars, monkeys, snakes, flamingos plus much more, also at the zoo they have recently opened “Jungle Tumbles” which is a spacious indoor soft play area for the under 12s and is open all year round – perfect for letting the little ones loose in, to burn off some of that extra energy!
Why not also make the most of excellent walking opportunities on your doorstep choose from, The Weavers Way, a 56 mile route that heads east to Great Yarmouth or the Norfolk Coastal path, a total of 45 miles heading towards Hunstanton, plus on this route you are able to walk as far as you want - then simply catch the Coastal Hopper bus, to return back.
