Tucked away in the centre of this traditional Norfolk village, Fieldmouse Barn is an attractive brick & flint conversion that offers character with mod cons. There is plenty of space inside and a lovely sunny, private courtyard garden outside; just the spot for al fresco eating in warmer weather. The barn also has a large wood burner in the living area for toasting toes after a bracing walk with the dog. Both bedrooms have a television for lazy morning lie-ins or late night movies. Ideally situated with the village pub round the corner, the barn is a great springboard location for access to the best of north Norfolk. Coast, countryside, historic houses and elegant Georgian towns are all here - there is plenty to explore at any time of the year. Shop: 2 miles Pub: within walking distance

Bodham is a small village close to the North Norfolk Coast which has a traditional pub offering excellent meals. The village has some great walks in the vicinity and depending on how energetic you wish to be you can walk to Weybourne on the coast. Sheringham and Cromer are two fun and traditional seaside towns within easy reach, with sandy beaches, live theatre in one and a pier show in the other; both towns have numerous good places to eat, including traditional fish and chips. The historic house of Felbrigg and the equally lovely Sheringham Park with gorgeous views down to the coast are both run by the National Trust and within easy reach. Amazona Zoo on the outskirts of Cromer is somewhere all generations will enjoy. Travel inland a little to discover the pretty, elegant, Georgian town of Holt, with plenty of independent boutique shops, a great food hall, numerous art galleries, antique haunts and a good slice of cake and coffee culture can be found here too! There is also a coastal steam train service from Holt to Sheringham. Golf courses can be found at Sheringham and Cromer and there are some wonderful views from the coastal cliff top walks.
This was our third stay at Fieldmouse Barn so we obviously really like the cottage and highly recommend it. We particularly like the spacious open plan living area, and the log burner. A friendly pub being so close by is also an added bonus. And don’t worry we have never been disturbed by activities from the pub. The kitchen has had a complete make over since our last visit. The new tiles/cupboards, etc give the room a really clean, modern look, and the cupboards are well stocked with essential utensils/cookware, etc. For coffee lovers, the coffee machine takes the original style Nespresso size capsules. There is no milk frother so bring your own. The bedroom has also been updated. The old red carpet has been replaced with a thick piled beige/grey carpet which feels lush under your feet. The slatted blinds are also new. Dog owners- the courtyard garden is 100% safe for our cocker spaniel but very small dog breeds could possibly escape under the gate, and determined escapologists could easily open the gate latch, but tying up the gate would quickly resolve that problem. There are no bowls/towels/bed for the dog so make sure you bring your own. On this visit (we arrived as storm Arwen hit the uk) we did find that the bedroom got very cold at night (13c on one occasion!) so we would suggest you bring a spare blanket for the bed. The room heated up quite quickly once the heating came on, however The central heating pipes run under the dining room/kitchen giving the impression of under floor heating, which is lovely when making your coffee/cuppa in the mornings.
Lovely property, plenty of space and excellent standard of equipment. One of the best holiday cottages we have stayed in and we have been to loads !
Although located just to the rear of the Stag public house there was no disturbance, a very quiet location spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Very spacious with the 2 bedrooms located at opposite ends of the building and their own on suites. Easy to get to the coast .
A lovely cottage with all the amenities we needed.
